Can you show before photos of the crown? It is possible that the original hair you had in the crown area prior to your procedure has fallen out and that what you have now is mainly transplanted hairs. The crown often takes two procedures to give appearance of better density because the hairs are place in a spiral pattern versus hairs placed in the frontal area are all placed in the same direction.
-
Pictured here is a 65 year old male patient who came in seeking an increase in density to the hairline and vertex. As he had no desire to keep his hair short in the future or shave his head for the procedure, together we decided an FUT procedure made the most sense for him. We successfully transplanted 2464 grafts into the frontal and vertex regions as seen here before and 10 months post operatively.

Great write up of your surgical experience. I wish more patients would take the kind of time you have to try and help some other potential patients. I know most patients use the forums to read tons of reviews and view hundreds of before and after photos. Unfortunately, most of these patients will not give back any of the time (pay it forward) to post about their surgical experience like you have. Good luck. It looks like a very nice job was done.

Dr's Hasson and Wong are two of the best in the field. I have been to their clinic and seen their results. You can't go wrong either way.

Anyone from india who has had the procedure abroad

The doctors you have mentioned all do very high quality work and you will likely get a similar result form either clinic. -
please help
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to shady mohamed's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
It looks like some of those grafts did not have intact follicles to begin with. If they are falling out like that without any bleeding there is a good chance the where not inserted into the recipient site correctly. However, in reality if a person/Dr was not there to see directly what happened in the surgery and immediately post operatively then we can only speculate.- 2 replies

I cannot answer your specific questions about Dr. Rahal's clinic. However a patient who initially makes a post shortly after having the procedure and then not following up later is very common. In fact, I think it happens more often when a person is pleased with the results and just moves on with his/her life and kind of forgets about it. When patients are displeased they usually do not forget and want to tell others about their dissatisfaction.

It is really not fair for the doctor to guarantee hair growth because there are so many things that could happen once the patient leaves the clinic that could effect the results. I do think that if there is an area that does not come in as well as the other areas then the doctor correcting that is the right thing to do. Some important questions to ask are: 1) How long has the doctor been performing HT surgery 2) How long has the clinic been open 3) How many cases has the doctor performed ( FUT and FUE) 4) How many patients/ surgeries per day are performed 5) How long have the surgical technicians worked with the doctor? 6) Ask to see before and after photos of both recipient and donor areas 7) Research on line and see what previous patients are saying about the doctor and clinic

Hair styling products!!
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to Bigjab's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
You want to avoid products that have alcohol in them. The gels are generally less harsh. Be careful with brushing or combing with product in the hair as it can be pulled out easier than when hair is without product. -

Worth their time?
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to John Doe's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
All cases should be important to the doctor. No matter what size the case is. Yes more money is made with larger cases but that should not deter the doctor from helping patients who only require smaller cases. They can be just as rewarding when the patient s is very pleased with the outcome. -
They are both excellent hair restoration surgeons. I do not think you can go wrong either way. Maybe if you asked them they would tell you that one is a bit stronger in one facet of hair transplantation than the other and visa versa. However, I have been to their clinic, seen their results and both are quite impressive.

Botox injections 3 months after surgery
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to GE90's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I have never seen any studies showing an increase of hair growth from Botox. However at 3 months post-op I see no problems having Botox injections to the face. -
Dr.Hasson vs Dr. Rahal - cant decide!!
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to mphair's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Some patients are not good candidates for FUE and a more more comprehensive clinic will offer both to be able to help a wider variety of patients. Most clinics that know a potential patient is not a great candidate for FUE but would be for FUT will still not refer patient to a clinic that offers FUT. I am not sure what kind of candidate you are for either procedure. You should be able to get your deposit back. -
Finasteride / Monoxidill tablets
Dr. Glenn Charles replied to ukpaitent's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
There is a good chance if you discontinue the Finasteride you will experience some hair loss/ shedding. I have not seen any great data that shows the effectiveness of oral Minoxidil.I think you mean 5 mg per day not 5g? -
I do not see the prices here in the US ever matching some of the European countries. I know that there costs especially what they pay the surgical technicians is nowhere near what we pay. If it is only low cost you are looking for you can find some really inexpensive clinics here in the states that offer that. However, be careful you might get what you pay for.

I would recommend only doing conservative work in the hairline area. Maybe 1300-1500 FU's. This could be done with either FUT or FUE. I do not think you have enough hair loss in the crown region at this time that could be improved with a hair transplant. Continue with preventative measures as long as no side effects occur.
