  1. Dr. Marc Dauer is by far the best hair restoration physician with regards to eyebrows. He has performed as many or more that any other doctor that does eyebrow transplants.I have been to his office and modified the way I perform eyebrow transplants after observing his technique. I've seen many of his patient results and they are excellent and very natural. If I needed my eyebrows transplanted that is where I would go.
  2. Keep in mind that I am not saying that the other physicians you mentioned are not qualified or good hair transplant doctors. I am just responding to your question about Dr. Hasson.
  3. Dr. Hasson is a excellent hair restoration surgeon. I have been to his office in Vancouver. He has all very qualified technicians and takes a lot of pride with every patient. Dr. Hasson is one of only a handful of doctors I would go to if I needed a hair transplant.
  4. In my experience when transplanting from beard to scalp it grows in same color as it was. Unfortunately, it does not take on the color of the surrounding native hair.
  5. Very true all areas do not start growing at same time. You have to be patient. Way more growth between months 4 to 8 compared to first 4 months. In many patients most growth between months 8-12. Very preliminary.
  6. Also keep in mind that graft removal can cause some micro scarring below the surface which can effect the survival rate of new grafts placed into that area.
  7. If generic iFinasteride is obtained from a reputable pharmacy it should have the same effect and/or side effects as name brand. Some patients will start to build tolerence or have less positive effects with prolonged usage.
  8. I think is is proper for the doctor to give the patient the estimated number of grafts needed. In my 25 years of experience depression is a very rare side effect of Finasteride. You should consider trying some preventative hair loss treatments as with most patients the hair loss continues. You are doing the right thing by researching aand doing your due diligence. The more educated you are the better decision you will make and more realistic your expectations will be.
  9. It would help if we could see the actual height of the hairline or distance from hairline to eye brows. If you have grafts removed that area would need to heal properly before transplanting news hairs into that area. Consider removing first few rows of grafts and then just thinning down area behind hairline using partial removals or alternating removals. Then at later date having additional grafts added in proper angle and direction.
  10. I have been performing Hair Transplants for 24 years and injecting Botox/ Xeomin/ Dysport in patients foreheads for at least 15 years. I recommend to my patients that they wait 2 weeks for complete healing of transplants before doing any injections into the forehead.
  11. No worries. Six months post-op and No bleeding equals no damage.
  12. Great video by Melvin. Thats exactly whats i tell my patients to do for first few night after HT. Two additional points I'd like to add. If you are only having work in the hairline/frontal area then you can rest head on pillow without airplane pillow. (Still use pad) Also, for those of you who are crazy sleepers and roll around a lot all night you can try to use pillows, books, shoes or just something placed along both sides of your body. So when sleeping if you try to roll over to side or stomach these items will remind you not to do that.
  13. I agree that even smaller doses of Finasteride is better than none at all. I usually recommend to patients who experiencing any negative side effects to cute back dosage by splitting doses but taking some each day. The reason for this is Finasteride has a very short half life and therefore if not taken for over 24 hours then there are periods where the body has suboptimal amounts of medication. So for example i would first suggest to go from 1 mg daily to .5 mg daily versus 1 mg every other day. If side effect are still present then .25mg - .33 mg daily. However, patients often respond differently to same doses. So if you feel that what you are doing is working and your not losing ground after several months then keep it up.
  14. I am hoping that you are aware that if you do multiple FUE or FUT cases you will have scarring in the donor area. This will require you to keep hair much longer in the donor area to keep the scarring camouflaged. You already have hair loss in the crown that is extending over the back edge towards the neck that may still advance further with aging. This makes the size of the area in the donor region where hair follicles can be used for transplantation smaller. If you decide to proceed forward with HT the realistic expectation should be average density in the frontal and mid scalp only or very light coverage over all three zones.
  15. If you are able to exercise regularly and maintain the diet you described you should be able to lose 1-3 lbs per week which if safe and reasonable. I recommend Lifepak Nano by Pharmanex as a high quality multivitamin. It is produced with nanoparticles and it has a much higher absorption rate compared to most vitamins that are made cheaply ith macroparticles that has a very low absorption rate.
  16. I generally tell patients that they can travel back home the second day after surgery. However I had many patients over the years that travelled the next day or even the same evening and had no problems occur from that. A lot also depends on how long your journey home is. For surgeries done in other countries were the flights are very long definitely safer to wait a few days.
  17. Most hair transplant doctors would diagnose you as a stage 6 or 7 MPB. It appears that you have at least average density in the donor hair. However exact density is not able to determined from a photo. I recommend if you decide to have a hair transplant you only have work done in the frontal and mid scalp areas with a conservative hairline. You may not have enough donor supply to fix the crown but can certainly make a big appearance change. You would likely need 2 or 3 procedures to maximize your results. it looks like you have advanced through the male pattern balding phases early in life so it is debatable if meds would have enough benefit for you compared to the potential side effects.
  18. This 25 year old male had a 2067 grafts FUT placed in hairline and frontal area in a single session. Photos show before and 1 year after photos. He is very pleased with his results.
  19. This 57 year old male , had a 2866 grafts FUT placed on frontal and vertex areas. Pictures show before and 8 months follow up. Patient is very pleased with the results of his Hair Transplant.
  20. This 49 year old male had 2401 grafts FUT placed to the crown and frontal areas. Photos show before/post-op and 10 months follow up. Patient is very pleased with results of his procedure.
  21. There is no long term data regarding oral Minoxidil and prevention of hair loss or hair growth. Definitely could have more systemic side effects. So absolutely get ok from your doctor before taking medication.
  22. I think you initial plan of 2000 Fu's to frontal / hairline area is a good start. I might not have enough current hair loss in the crown region to make a big improvement. this is because you will likely have shock loss in that area after the procedure and after the new hairs grow in you may have a very similar appearance than to before surgery. In other words no big net gain. Good luck what ever you decide.
  23. This 46-year-old male had a 2555 grafts FUT placed in frontal area in a single session. Photos show before and 8 months post-op. Patient is very pleased with results.
  24. In most cases the visibility after the second procedure is less than after the first. This is because you will have the healthier hairs present from the first procedure and the weaker hairs would most likely have fallen out from shock after first surgery.
  25. All the doctors mentioned above from Spain, Portugal and Belgium do excellent work and get great results. Sometimes paying a little more to get a higher quality outcome is well worth it. This is one of those cases.
