  1. I've read that some people have been able to shave the back of their head with a #2 guard and not be able to see their scar. I'm just over 2 months post op and decided to shave my head down to a #4 gaurd and was able to see mine. Does this area blend in better with time?

  3. I read a couple of posts regarding the use of a cosmetic tattoo to cover up a scar. The idea seems interesting but I only read about 1 person that actually did it with good results. I was wondering if anyone else has had any experiences with this? I had a small procedure done which I've read is not the smartest thing in the world to do and would now like to try and conceal my scar. My scar is only about 2 inches long and not very wide. It's been about 2 months since my surgery, how long would I need to wait before trying this?

  5. I've read alot of the information posted on here about shock loss. I'm still not sure I fully understand it. I understand that if the hair is weak that there is probably a good chance that you will lose it but why do you lose strong hair? Is it because the Dr. punches directly into the healthy follicle? I understand strong hair follicles are supposed to eventually come back, but if the transplant damages the follicle isn't there a good chance you could lose it also? I'm about 2 months post op and have experienced alot of loss. The Dr. has told me it takes about 2 months for your lost hair to grow back in and mine is not even close. I'm starting to wonder if maybe some of my original hair was damaged.

  7. Thanks for all of your replies. Still not sure I made the right decision but I feel a little better. Sac, to answer your question I am in the Midwest. The Dr. I went to is very reputable, came highly recommended, and is mentioned on this site. The procedure itself went great. It was pretty much painless, and the Dr and staff were great. I guess now it's just a waiting game. Good Luck on your HT.
  8. I recently had a HT 1 month ago. I am now thinking I made a mistake. I have thinning hair at the hairline and front 1/3 of my head. After speaking with the Dr he convinced me to have 2 small sessions(the first was around 700, I have not had the second yet). His reasoning was so that in the second session he could then better see where he needed to add more density. I have read on this site that it is a mistake to have a HT of less than 1000 grafts. I knew this going in however the Dr was very convincing that the 2 sessions was the way to go. I think I might have made a mistake because now I am alot thinner because I have lost some of the hair I originally had and wish I had never gone through with the procedure. I might feel different in 3 months when I start seeing growth but as of right now my advice on having a small procedure done would be to avoid it. I was just wondering if anyone else had positive experiences with having smaller sessions done?
