  1. Trix, great to see your fantastic results. How long is the wait time for a procedure at Hattingen at the moment, do you know?
  2. I've been on propecia for about 5yrs.A bit on and off admittedly but solidly for the past year. A couple of weeks ago I had to come off it briefly for another medical reason(can't be bothered explaining, nothing to do with the possible side effects of propecia).I reckon I didn't take it for about 3 weeks at the most. I'mnow back on it but my hair just seems to have thinned incredibly .It's gone totally weird, feels dry, brittle, unstyleable Is it possible that all the hair I've held onto through the propecia use could go that quickly after stopping it for a few weeks or do you think it's a shed from going back on it? It's incredible because it seems like only a couple of months ago I was looking in the mirror and thinking that the propecia had really helped strengthen the top back two thirds of my head.My worries were only really with the hairline and frontal third.Needless to say I'm mighty pissed!!!

  4. Sorry didn't see that other question. The initial shedding varies from person to person but maybe a few weeks -month?.The good news is that the hair you are shedding now should grow back.
  5. Hi VaM, In answer to your questions... 1)Absolutely normal 2)Definitely not! If you want the propecia to work you've got to stay on it. Unless you are experiencing any of the more serious side effects for an extended period of time stick with it. All the best
  6. Yeah, his results seem to be from quite along time ago now By the way, it may be just me but I find it really difficult to get around the hair losshelp site.Every time I try to see the patient results I get the same 4 examples .Certainly couldn't find any of Dr.Alexanders patients.Any suggestions as to what I need to do?
  7. Ok, I've been an avid reader of these forums and this great site for a long time now and I think we can all agree that this is a pro strip site. As I occasionally do, have visited forhair.com, Dr.Coles site today and of course read all the anti strip opinions on there Would be interested to know from people on here...What are your feeling about Dr.Cole and his CIT(fue) methods/results either from experience or hearsay? I've read a lot of anti Armani stuff on here regarding fue and its graft yield( due to lack of physical proof of the success of fue megasessions) but Cole does seem to be a leading practitioner of this method as well as seemingly devoting a lot of time to research and advancing ht technology. How good do you think he is?
  8. I too have been concerned with this issue and I'm only going to try and address the issue of finasteride in the semen while trying to conceive NOT once a woman is actually pregnant. As far as I know, from talking to doctors ,the half life of finasteride (ie the length of time it is in your system) is very short so if you stop taking it for a week or two before you try to conceive there should be no trace of it in the semen. This is even taking into consideration ,and apologies for being graphic, that say you were to ejaculate tomorrow ... the semen that would come out was actually produced in your body about 72 days ago. This is medical fact. Ask anyone who has gone through IVF or some other fertility treatment. So ,given the small window of opportunity for a woman to get pregnant each month, if you've been on propecia for a good amount of time(say 6 months or more?)theoretically you should be able to come off it for short periods while you're trying to conceive each month and then go back on it without it affecting your hair loss concerns too much Also bear in mind that in the clinical trials, the monkeys were given HUGE amounts of finasteride.Nothing like the doses that we take. Finasteride does affect the volume of sperm you produce but not the sperm COUNT which is a much more crucial thing in the reproductive game I'm not a doctor but maybe somebody else can concur with most of this
  9. Glad to hear things are looking a lot better. It must have been a nightmare first week for you! Hope the next few months are a breeze.
  10. Glad that I could be of help, all be it only in a small way. Knowing how I completely freak out about my hair most of the time, were I in your situation at the moment I would be feeling exactly the same HOWEVER given that, and knowing how I get things out of proportion(not that that stops me from obsessing about hair loss everyday!) I would think that the fact that you must be mentally, physically and emotionally drained at the moment, all the "what if's "and "why's" etc running about in your head,(They certainly do with me and I'm just trying to decide whether to get an ht or not!)will be playing a part in your outlook on things. In no way am I belittling your situation, you have an infection and that is no fun.Just when you thought you could be free of worrying about your bloody hair another follicle related problem comes up! But you have had the guts to take the plunge.Difficult as it will be just try and relax,I'm pretty sure it will sort itself out, and I look forward to you saying to me in a few months"Do it!It's the best decision I ever made"Keep us posted, all the best
  11. I feel for you mate. You did everything by the book and you shouldn't have to be going through this.I hope there is someone out there who can advise you and take some of your worries away. All I can say is that I have been plagued with folliculitis all over my scalp for years (because it was constantly misdiagnosed as seb dem). After a course of oral and topical antibiotics it is finally gone.I have also been taking zinc everyday for the past couple of months and I think that, more than anything, has made an amazing difference. I'm sure the fact that you're taking antibiotics this early in the infection will be very beneficial,it just might take another week or so to kick in. Here's hoping that your follicles will be fine. Will keep everything crossed for you.
  12. Hi Guys, When is it safe to use a hairdryer and put product in your hair after a ht?

  14. Hi Stuart J, if LA is a viable option for you, then I wouldn't even think about London. Research this site for a while and you'll see that North American/Canadian surgeons are the best in the world.I don't think this is even up for debate. There are plenty of really good surgeons in or near LA You could meet up with Dr. Siporin in Beverly Hills or why not take the hour long flight from LA to Phoenix and meet up with Dr.Alexander whose results are consistently amazing
  15. I think his work is some of the best out there. When it comes to hairlines, in the top 3 in my opinion and I haven't read any negatives.I too am a nw 3, consulted with him and he suggested 2500 but I just need the opportunity and the courage(nothing to do with his skill, just my nervousness!) to go for it.So I really look forward to hearing how you get on
