  1. @JDEE0 Just stumbled across this! I haven't seen any work from Dr. Pinto before so this will be an interesting follow. You had an enviable head of hair going into this surgery, also stellar donor characteristics. I like how Dr. Pinto angled the hairs forward in the corners, it really matched your natural growth pattern. Donor looks great. I think you'll be a happy camper in a couple months! Edit: You are the ideal candidate for FUE!
  2. You're trying to predict the future. Just as likely is that after your transplant you'll want more density in that same area before the rest of your hair falls out behind it. Don't be surprised if round 2 is just a couple years later.
  3. Fin ain't the only thing in the world causing ED. If you were on it for 20 years without side effects then it is quite possible that something else is behind the issues you're facing right now.
  4. Melvin is exactly right. Surgery is risky in that you could shock your remaining native hair on top, perhaps leaving you worse off than before surgery. Get back on fin and stay on it. If you don't, it is reasonable to assume that you'll lose the rest of your remaining hair in a few years surgery or not.
  5. @Gatsby Wow, now's that a marathon transplant. Unreal that you got almost 9k grafts! With all that you have been through, I'm wishing you nothing but the very best.
  6. Get an appointment with a HT doc and they can examine your hair to see if you are losing. We can lose up to 50% of our hair before it's apparent to the naked eye.
  7. You could just be losing your juvenile hairline. Wouldn't hurt to get a miniaturization check. How old are you?
  8. You've got a ton of natural hair left to preserve. Get on fin ASAP.
  9. Yes, of course. Some men apply it to their beards as well.
  10. Then stick with it and don't bother getting a HT. You're definitely not a great candidate and it's almost certain you'd be underwhelmed with the results.
  11. @HugoX Over 10k grafts and your donor still looks incredible. Results on top are great and you still haven't seen the fruits of your 2nd procedure yet.
  12. Your FUT's have done well for you. I would be concerned about overharvesting with 2000-2500 grafts via FUE (do I see some retrograde going on?). Maybe 1000-1500 would be less risky.
  13. Dr. K is the best in the biz, and I can't recommend him enough. But also consider his protege, Dr. Nadimi, who also does meticulous work.
  14. Some of the hairline grafts will need to be punched out - I see a number of multi-hair grafts up front but that's an easy fix. You may want to consider a two-step approach. 1) Punch out the poorly angled and multi-hair grafts and give it a few months to heal. 2) Undergo another surgery to increase the density in the hairline. The pitting will be camouflaged with more surrounding hair, also pitting improves with time. It's hard to tell from the pic, but the strip scar doesn't look great. So you'll have a decision to make whether to go FUT or FUE. Where are you located? You should be very selective with who does your next surgery.
  15. You complete the ugly duckling phase around month 3. Growth begins around month 4. Months 5 and 6 it starts to fill in. Months 7-12 the hairs mature along with additional growth. Month 13 you get another transplant.
  16. @Melvin- Moderator 1600 grafts extracted and you still have a thicker beard than I do... 🤬😂
  17. @SadMan2021 I agree your hair looks good when styled. How old are you? The reason I ask is that it is likely that you'll want more surgeries down the road just for more density. Perhaps during a larger session, you can focus on punching out the most egregious of the poorly angled grafts (say somewhere 50-100). So it wouldn't be a full on repair surgery. Sometimes more hair hides these imperfections... for me it helped disguise the cobblestoning I had from my first surgery.
  18. First person ever to complain about having direct access to the surgeon. 😂
  19. I think I know the case you are talking about, and I believe they were misprescribed with a much larger dose of oral minoxidil. That drastic a case of hypertrichosis is probably not possible with such a low dosage.
  20. @Baldingat22 Since you've been on fin for a year already it's probably not a bad idea to try oral minoxidil. It seems that most docs have their patients cut the 2.5mg tablet in half or the 5mg tablet in fourths to start, so roughly 1.25mg. This way the body can get used to the medication before upping the dosage to 2.5mg. Hypertrichosis, were hair grows in non scalp areas, is one of the most common side effects. For me, I've noticed some vellus hairs coming in between my eyebrows and temple points. I haven't noticed dry/oily skin or acne/eczema breakouts yet, but I've only been on it for a month.
  21. Here's a good thread on oral minoxidil.
