Hi All, Well it's been two months and I'm in the middle of the ugly duckling stage, UGH! The front has really taken a beating and is thin but, I know this is the worst part. I am keeping it short to hide the thin areas. It's hard not to stress even though I've been here before. . How full do you guys think the front will get? I put a link to my first post containing beginning photos. Let me have your honest opinions. Thanks

It's looking real good Squatch. You are right on track for an outstanding result. In the next couple of months you should really see it thicken up. You are at the best part of your procedure to see the most growth. Congrats!!

Here is my one month update. Everything seems to be going well. I have some sprouts coming in up front, they might be shock loss returning.

This is a phenomenal result for only 1500 grafts. I would not have expected that much density from what he started with. I would be very happy if I were him.

That looks awesome for six months and it will only get thicker in the next six.

Here are day 10 post op picks. I am starting to get feeling back in the transplanted area.

No, the pics are eight days after surgery not before. I have diffuse thinning in front and crown. I do not have major hair loss thus only 1350 grafts. My wife just trimmed my hair and will be posting 10 day post op pics later today.

Thanks Squatch, much appreciated, Yea, the majority of scabs were gone by day five. I still have some stragglers, but very few.

Here are some day eight pictures. It seems to be healing well, no pain at all. The fue into scar has shed some so it looks very noticeable. I still have ten more days off so hopefully my native hair will grow some to cover the scar. I'm going to wait until I have to go back to work to trim my hair to all one length.

Yes, you are correct. I wanted the hairline to be a little thicker and fill in the frontal third. 1.I have had transplants in the front previously and shock loss will always occur to some degree. Dr Gabel and I discussed shock loss and agree there will be some. 2. I have been on Propecia for 10 years and it has slowed my hair loss.

We didn't discuss using beard hair. I wanted to use my head hair so it would match. I do have a smaller strip scar below the larger one but as you said it is not very noticeable even shaved down, so I opted not to fill it in.

The scar isn't horrible but I want to wear my hair short in the future. 120 head hair grafts were used for the scar. Thanks

I'd like to thank this community for the great posts and the photos of other hair transplant surgeries. I think this forum provides a great service to hair loss sufferers and information to make an educated decision for treatment. With that said I'd like to tell my story about my hair loss and the latest, wonderful experience with Dr. Gabel. I have had four previous hair transplants with non-coalition and coalition doctors over a twenty three year period starting in 1992. All of my four previous surgeries were strip transplants. My most current transplant before Dr. Gabel's was with a coalition doctor and it yielded a wide strip scar. I first met with Dr. Gabel in his Seattle office in May of 2012. I was immediately at ease with Dr. Gabel as he was truly concerned with what I wanted to achieve and told me honestly what could be done because of my previous transplants. I wanted a fue transplant to fill in the hairline a small amount in the crown and fix the strip scar. After the consultation I was very impressed with his honesty as he didn't tell me what I wanted to hear but what could realistically be accomplished. My job has me on long projects and I had to keep delaying my surgery until February of 2015. Dr. Gabel and his staff never pressured me to pick a date or rush me into surgery. I finally had a two and a half week window and it was easy to book the appointment and they worked with my schedule. Aileen (Dr. Gabel’s assistant) was wonderful at scheduling, providing needed paperwork, hotel booking and many other things. Aileen was always available for questions along with Dr. Gabel. The day of surgery was February 19, 2015; my wife and I arrived at the Hillsboro facility at 6:30am. Dr. Gabel met with my wife and I for an hour to make sure all of our concerns and the plan of treatment was fully discussed and agreed upon. My wife was very impressed with Dr. Gabel’s honesty about the number of grafts that could be extracted and still have the donor site look natural. My wife had this concern as she is a hair stylist for 25 years and knows hair. My wife was additionally impressed that Dr. Gabel included her in all the discussions and decisions as she was not asked to be involved from the previous doctors. Before heading off to the surgery room Dr. Gabel has a photo room that is incredible. He takes pre and post op pictures from five different angles from every side of the head. Surgery time!! All of the techs were so professional and we joked around during the surgery, it was such a good time I forgot I was having surgery. I was included in all the aspects during surgery, for instance I was shown the extracted grafts in the dishes before placement. I would like to say Dr. Gabel placed all the grafts himself and was meticulous with his high standards. Dr. Gabel would always check to make sure the patient doesn't feel any pain and will immediately give more anesthesia when needed. After the grafts were placed the techs continued to clean the affected areas to make sure it was as clean as possible, this was an hour process and I appreciated it since my other operations left large blood crusts on my head and slowed healing. Once the cleaning was complete I was taken to a finishing room where my wife was waiting. Dr. Gabel checked the work again to make sure everything was in order and to go over that nights care. The next morning my wife and I went back to the office for a check-in and Dr. Gabel again had his team clean the areas and go over post-op care and give us a bag full of care products. This was great as we had what was needed and a day by day care plan. Dr. Gabel said if I had any concerns, questions or issue to please call him anytime. The next day Dr. Gabel sent me all the photos and wanted to know how I was doing. This hair restoration experience is by far the best I have ever experienced and Dr. Gabel and his staff are incredible. I’d like to give a special thanks to Aileen (medical assistant) you’re the best!!! Pre-op Picks Immediately Post-op and one during I'll post more pics as the days go by.

I also think this is a good approach and result. I must say you have a nice shaped head and it looks good even without hair.

This result, with only 2000 grafts is absolutely amazing. I have a little less hair loss than you and I'm going in for 1900 grafts with Dr. Gabel on the 19th of February of 2015, hope my result is close to yours.
