  1. Looking great at 3 months. Being a month ahead, I can tell you that the wait is really agonizing now! You can see growth but the hairs are too small to make a cosmetic difference yet, and you'll find yourself almost willing them to grow faster Stay away from mirrors .
  2. my doc advised me not to lift until the 1 month mark. I ended up waiting until 2 months, because I felt at little discomfort in the donor area, and didn't want to push it. I was able to start running at about 3 weeks though. Sitting around doing nothing was really hard for the first month!
  3. raj, Looks like you're a diffuse thinner. Personally, I'd do 2 procedures, one to address the front and mid scalp and the other to address the crown. Costs vary between $3 and $4 per graft on average. Its easier said than done, but don't let cost or travel be a factor in your decision. Consult a number of clinics and pick the doctor you feel most comfortable with. You can find a list of coalition doctors here Take your time, do your research and in the mean time consider getting concealers like dermatch and toppik. They can do wonders for diffuse thinners when used correctly. Good luck!
  4. To answer your questions succinctly, 1. Feller is an outstanding doc...he should be on everyone's top 5. 2. Everybody feels comfortable after different amounts of time. Some people don't like looking bald even if there is no remaining redness and choose to wear hats longer than others. The truth is, nobody knows how long they'll need to wear a hat, since nobody can predict how they'll heal and whether or not shock loss will hit. 3. I wouldn't do postage size procedures. If thats all you need, consider putting off surgery. In a few years, it will be even more refined than it is now (though honestly i'm not sure how ). 4. H&W are top docs, but lots of docs do good hairlines. It boils down to who you feel most comfortable with, in the end. Sounds like you've already done quite a bit of resarch. Good luck with your decision!
  5. At 4 months..I still have a long way to go. Relax and be patient. Dr E has produced some good results in the past..don't panic.
  6. congrats on the HT. The recepient area looks amazing for only 2 hours post surgery! How many grafts did you get?
  7. Thank you all for taking the time to look at my pics and give me feedback. I know I'm still very early in the process. At this point, the only styling that provides me with decent coverage is combing my hair forward like I have in the pics. Anything else still looks pretty thin. Hopefully the growth will continue . Thanks for all the support during my journey.
  8. I've updated my blog with 4 month pics. At this point I'm seeing some growth, but I've got a looong way to go, especially in the area on the left where I'd lost most of my native hair. We didn't touch the crown, but we went quite far back and that, coupled with the propecia regimen has definitely made it smaller. Here's a link

  10. In addition to what everyone else recommended, I brought a couple of my own DVDs and music though I ended up picking from what my doc had. I also took my camera, so I could get some pics during the procedure...but once again ended up having my doc take pics with his, since it was better .
  11. Chethan, Use the search feature on the site and you'll find recommendations for several surgeons. You can find a list of coalition docs which are recommended by HTN. There's a lot of good surgeons out there who get consistently good results, and picking one is a personal choice. Get several consults and find someone who you're completely comfortable with. FYI, there are some great surgeons in Canada too.
  12. nm76, The last pic in my "more pre-op pics" post shows my donor characteristics. I was told I had good characteristics, with good density and good scalp laxity.
  13. have you had your stitches/staples out yet? That made a big difference for me. I had tightness for a few weeks and was told that I had excellent laxity and that was with only 3200 grafts so I can only imagine that its normal. Wouldn't hurt to call your surgeon and check with him. You'll sleep *alot* better after your stitches/staples are out.
  14. I've heard of touch ups due to unsatisfactory results...but I've never heard of planning a touch up ahead of your first HT. In fact you shouldn't be extracting multiple strips within a few months of each other! Is this doctor in the coalition?
  15. some people don't have good enough donor characteristics for a great transplant (due to density or scalp laxity or both). Thats why it is important to have *multiple* *ethical* surgeons evaluate you before you decide on a transplant. A good surgeon will be able to level set your expectations based on your donor characteristics, and that is really important before deciding on a transplant.
  16. congrats on the transplant. Take it easy for a bit and let the grafts take root! We look forward to pics..grow well!
  17. Thanks for documenting your journey. Your hair looks fantastic and your story will inspire many more!
  18. Looks nice and clean, and a good amount of grafts. It will give a good amount of density. Congrats on your HT. Heal and grow well!
  19. This is going to look fantastic. All your time on this forum was well spent, picking an excellent surgeon. Thats a good amount of grafts. I expect that in a few months you'll forget that you ever had hair loss ake . Take it easy for a couple of weeks and grow well!
  20. If you noticed that propecia stabilized your hairloss, I wouldn't stop it. You can't really predict what your future hairloss pattern would be, so if its working for you , don't mess with the regimen!
  21. I took fiber optics in grad school and I can say that none of the classes were as well presented ...nice work Dr Feller.
  22. You've healed nicely in 14 days! Be careful and gentle for another couple of weeks at least...and most of all be patient! Good luck and grow well!
  23. Dr Feller is a stud! You will have a great result! Stay away from the mirror until you do ! Its always easier to cheer from the sidelines...than to be in the situation where your desperate for some results soon. But feel secure knowing that there are hundreds who've gone down this road before you! Grow well!
  24. This is so weird..I was examining my scar on sunday night and thought I noticed the same thing. I'm not sure whether its a stitch or not..but I'll have my doc check it out.
