I wore one almost everyday after mine. I bought some saran wrap, sprayed the cleansing spray Dr. Cooley gave me and put the saran wrap over my grafts just protect them. That may have not been necessary but he recommended it and it was easy,I only did that for about the first week.

yes I'm pleased so far with the results. Of course I won't know the full affect until about month 12 or so. But it's already made a difference. I'll try to post a pic from the day of the surgery. I'm not sure about what class, but I would say a 2 or 3. It looks like your front should be fine once the HT grows in. I could tell alot about the top. Dr. Cooley is great so it will look natural. When I go back in Dec to let Dr. Cooley see the results I might check and see what he thinks about working on the crown and middle a little. At my first consult he only recommended the frontal area. I can use a little dermMatch on the spot in the back and it looks fine. As far as the propecia it starts working immediately but you need to give it a year to fully judge it. But it is very good at keeping what hair you have so I would stay on it. I've been on it for a little over 3 years and it's helped me. The minoxidil works good with the propecia, but if you haven't started I might would hold off b/c it is a lifetime commitment. I only use it once a day, before I go to bed so it's not really that bad. I hope this helps. My camera is broken but I'll try and get some updated pic posted.

Congradulations on the HT, I had 1500 with Dr. Cooley on 2-8-06 and he is a great doctor and person. I started noticing growth about the 4 month mark although not too much but now I'm starting to see alot of growth. They say around month 7 or 8 is when you really start noticing it and man does time fly.I don't know if your using minoxidil but if you go to minoxidil.com and get some from dr. Lee, it's not as messy. I use the standard xandrox he offers b/c it is supposed to help with battle the DHT. Good Luck!

I'm not sure how many days you are since your ht. But normally the grafts are set in at about 1 wk. The little hairs are going to come out anyway, so in about 3-4 weeks most will be gone. I don't think that all of mine ever came out,but most did. The little bulb at the end of the hair is not the follicle, so unless you had some bleeding you shouldn't have hurt the follicle and the hair will eventually grow back. Probably at about 3.5-4 months is when you start noticeing growth. I'm at almost 6 months and have really started to see some nice growth. Although most people see a lot of growth at 7-8 month mark. With the full result at about12-14 months. But it goes by quickly. Good Luck 1500 with dr. cooley 2-8-06

How do you use it? I used to use it a little and I believe it's good stuff.

I'm getting close to my 6 month mark. 2-8-06 1500 with Dr. Cooley in Charlotte NC. Pretty much healed up completely in about a month. Other than the scar area which was a little sore and sometimes a little numb until about month 4. But nothing that really bothered me. A little neosporin helps and the lady who does my hair can't even find the scar. But like most I noticed a little growth starting after 3.5 months, but now it's starting to really get noticeable. So you really shouldn't expect much growth before about 5 months and like Dr. Cooley said about 6-8 months you really get alot of growth but give it about 12 months to really get the full affect. But time flies and I can't believe it's been almost 6 months. So be patient b/c it'll be over before you know. Also anyone considering a HT, Dr. Cooley is a great surgeon you can trust and he really cares.

I had my HT on 2-8-06. 1500 with Dr. Cooley and he is a great person who takes his work seriously. He was honest with me up front and told me I wouldn't see alot of growth at the 6 month mark. About the 4 month mark is when I started to notice growth, but time is going by so fast the before you know it a year will be up and by then it should be close to full growth. So I'm excited and glad I made the committment b/c it'll be totally worth it. No one every even noticed that I had one. Of course I where a hat alot, but alot times I don't and nobody ever said anything. Not even my eye doctor noticed anything when he had me take off my hat so I could look in the (whatever you call it) to examine my eyes and that was about 8-10 days after my HT. The lady who cuts my hair didn't even know until I told her. You go Dr.Cooley! So be patient and stay on the propecia or proscar whichever and glta.

I don't think weight lifting alone really boost hair loss. But I've heard that some of the supplements your taken can lead to hair loss. Hopefully someone can give you a definate answer.

I hope everything works of for you Bill. I've heard a lot of good things about H&W. I'm not sure where they are located or their contact info so if someone could post it for me it would be greatly appreciated. I had my first HT on 2-8-06 with Dr. Cooley in Charlotte, NC. He did 1500 to tidey up my front. I'm now thinking of going back the first part of next year and maybe do some on the top which isn't very bad but I like to fill in some spots and I heard H&W will do a bunch at one time and then I should be done with it. Also Dr. Cooley is excellent and I definately recommend him. I just would like to see what H&W recommends for me. Thanks and glta, Joel

I don't think it looks bad. Everything should be fine, just give a little time. I would think the hair around the donar area should definately regrow. I'm 28 days post op. 1500 with Dr. Cooley and I have experienced almost no shock loss in donar or recipeint area. Take care

Sorry I have never needed a prescription with them. Maybe it's some new procedure. I have an extra box of generic proscar by merck, if you're interested. I usually split them into 4ths, which is about 120 days worth. I won't need it anytime soon. I think I paid about 45.00 for them and if you want them I won't charge any shipping. Also once I'm ready to re-order and they don't make me give them a presprition, I'll be glad to order some for you. I think since I'm an existing comstomer they don't require it. I just recieved an email not long ago reminding me that it's time to re-order. But just in case I think my doctor would probably give me one. Hi, I get mine from planethealthstore.com. I usually get the generic proscar by merck and cut it up into four pieces. It has a crease in the middle so it's easy to split up. Just use a razor blade and split it in half then split the two pieces in half. They don't have to be perfect. Although they sell brandname propecia and proscar as well. Proscar is the same as propecia except it's 5mg instead of 1mg. That way it'll only cost you around 15 bucks a month. I've never had any problem with this online pharmacy and you don't need a prescription. I hope this helps. Joel

I'LL BE 36 IN MARCH, AND I'VE HAD A RECEDING HAIRLINE SINCE I WAS PROBABLY 28. I STARTED ON ROGAINE FOR AWHILE AND KINDA HATED THAT. BUT I WORKED FOR MYSELF AND COULD WEAR A HAT SO THAT MADE IT EASIER. ALSO I DIDN'T ALWAYS STAY OR TRACK WITH THE MINOXIDIL. SO PROBABLY WHEN I WAS ABOUT 33 I GOT ON PROPECIA (GENERIC PROSCAR) AND MINOXIDIL 5%. NOW I USE XANDROX 5% INSTEAD BECAUSE IT'S LESS MESSY. SO THINGS HAVE PRETTY MUCH STAYED THE SAME I QUESS. I CAN'T TELL MUCH DIFFERENCE. I GOT TO DR COOLEY'S AT 8:00 AND A SWEET LITTLE GIRL NAMED BRANDY TOOK ME BACK AND CHECK MY VITALS AND GOT ME TO PUT ON ONE OF THEIR OPERATING SHIRTS I QUESS YOU WOULD CALL IT. THE GRAFT PLACEMENT WAS TOTALLY PAIN FREE. I HAD A MOVIE GOING, BUT MOST OF THE TIME I KINDA DOSED OFF. AILENE BROUGHT ME A SANDWHICH FOR LUNCH, THEY ALSO HAD A QUICK STAFF MEETING. BUT IT WASN'T LONG THEY WHERE BACK AT IT. SO I WAS THERE AT 8:00 AND LEFT JUST ABOUT 6:00PM. I HAD A HOTEL NEARBY, ALTHOUGH I PROBABLY COULD'VE DRIVEN. IT WAS BEST NOT TO TAKE ANY CHANCES. I NEVER WAS REALLY NERVOUS AND ONCE I TOOK THE VALIUM AND A SHOT WHICH I HARDLY FELT, LET'S JUST SAY I WAS FEELING NO PAIN AND WAS VERY RELAXED. I CAN FEEL THE DONAR AREA A LITTLE, AND I TRIED TO BE CAREFUL WITH IT WHILE I SLEPT THAT NIGHT. BUT IT HASN'T REALLY BOTHERED ME THAT MUCH.
