    • Apologies if this topic has been brought up a lot. I've reached out to several of the top rated surgeons recommended on here (Dr. Gabel, Dr. Rahal and Dr. Konior specifically), and most of their feedback has been relatively consistent. I'm currently at the intermediate phase of what will most likely transition into an advanced hair loss pattern (my dad is completely bald on the scalp, I'd estimate he's a Norwood 6 or even 7) and my mom's father was completely bald on the scalp as well (I never met him, just saw pictures). I've been told my donor availability is limited and that I may not be able to have a second surgery, so I should focus on the frontal and midscalp regions and be prepared to possibly never target the crown. Dr. Konior recommended strip harvesting which I'm not sure I'm comfortable with - I generally wear my hair short, so I don't want a scar in the back of my head.  Dr. Rahal actually recommended that I wait 6-12 months while using Minoxidil and topical Finasteride. His idea was that he would like to see stabilization before I make a final decision. But I don't love waiting because I want to get into the dating world and don't love the idea of going through this transition for another 2 years (waiting a year for surgery and then another year to see results). Dr. Gabel indicated that I will have a lot more hair than I have now, but that I'll still be able to see my scalp through my hair. I'm feeling overwhelmed with which surgeon to go with, and whether there are additional surgeons I should be reaching out to or considering for my hair loss.
    • That was my thinking as well as I have never seen that recommendation on this forum so figured I would ask. Not to second guess the recommendation but wanted to see if anyone had advice or a similar experience. I still have some of the grafts intact at around 6-7 weeks and I guess the thought is that the new hairs growing below would cause inflammation by pushing on the transplanted hairs, but I would think they would just push them out naturally? Hoping this isn’t something to be concerned about and I can continue to wait till the 3-4 month mark to see some hairs poking through the scalp. Picture below, and my surgeon was Dr. Haber.
    • Why should not be for real? My case was presented in a medical magazine. Just google Allogenic hair transplant. Surgery was in Romania. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10521806/ I will come with photos if there is any interes. But I am not agree with ethical issue. I have a disease and this was an option. I consider sharing my case could really help some other ppl.
    • The idea that you can get maximum 6,000 grafts is antiquated. There are several men who’ve had 9k+ from FUE that look good. @Bandit90 @captaincalico @Gatsby @mtb@HugoX these are just a few.  FUT doesn’t leave you with more grafts. You’re removing the grafts, so those grafts are gone. It will leave you with a scar that you may need to add grafts to afterwards. Remember you need optimal density to conceal a strip scar. Getting subsequent FUEs reduces density, which Will w post the scar.  I will add hattingen to the mix. I love Nader, but high Norwoods isn’t something he does often. Hattingen certainly do more high Norwoods.
    • So I am 27 residing in New Delhi, India. I have now decided to get on the hair restoration journey. I have been searching for different clinics. I’ve visited one of them and have shared the photos with others for consultation. The one which I visited quoted me 2000 grafts required after looking at the pictures. When I visited them for in person consultation, they quoted me 2600-2800 grafts with FUE+DHT technique and put me in the Norwood Grade 2-3. I sent the same pictures to other clinic also, but they quoted me 4000(+500) grafts requirement after looking at the pictures for an FUT+FUE transplant method or an Advanced FUE method. I requested them for an in personal consultation in case they change their mind. Can any expert here assess the pictures and tell me how much I actually require.   Also, which clinic should I consider. The one which is doing FUE+DHT method or the one using FUE+FUT technique. I know that I’ve limited number of grafts available. And I don’t want to ruin my donor area by letting them take more grafts than required.   The price is similar for both the clinics if I choose the base pricing of one which quoted me 2800 grafts with the other one which quoted me 4000(+500) grafts. So there is no difference in the cost of both the clinics.   Also both the clinics are highly reviewed on this forum. I am in a state of dilemma whom to go with.
