  2. I would say it’s your choice as a patient ! If there is a option of 2 then you should be able to make your preference.

  3. There was a thread started not too long ago asking why topical finasteride isn't sold by big pharmaceutical companies, but had me thinking. Why isn't topical finasteride more popular. Given how effective it has shown to be on limited studies, there should be a huge demand and a lot of outlets selling topical finasteride. What do you guys think? Would love to hear the communities input. Why Isn't Topical Finasteride and Dutasteride More Popular?

  4. This 37 year old patient came in today one year after receiving 1500 FUE grafts to his hairline to reframe his face. He started on finasteride one year ago and has had some positive growth in his vertex. All grafts were harvested and placed by the physician.

  5. My hair is no different now to how it was before I had the transplant. I have always had dead straight hair, and I can style it from short to long hair, fringe up or fringe down. I just prefer not to have my fringe down so I style it like I have done in the pics. But could easily change it if I wanted to.

  6. Thanks man! I really liked Dr Farjo’s drawing of the hairline pre-op and really pleased with the post-op result too. Looking forward to the next few months!

  9. It's a LOT of work that goes into finding a trustworthy compounding pharmacy that can do this for a reasonable price. The other issue is you need to have a critical mass of patients who would want to buy this product in order for it to be fruitful for the surgeon to invest so much time/money into this endeavor. This isn't to mention the shipping/handling, storage costs, customer service issues, dealing with fraud from vendors and patients, etc. I am currently trying to find a trustworthy compounding pharmacy to do this. The compounding pharmacies in the US charge so much that it's not ev

  10. The issue is that the cost to compound it is expensive. Plus shipping costs, customer service. It’s not worth it in my opinion. Unless, it can be compounded at a reasonable cost.

  11. Looking at all of your pictures it looks to me like a lot of the individual transplanted hairs are still a bit thinner than your native hair, so I think it should mature and thicken up a bit more over the next few months.

  13. It doesn't look bad at all, looking at the photos before your first ht, I would say that you had a big change of image, especially from the front, it seems very natural to me, the donor still has to recover a little, but you are only 4 months old.

  14. I don't understand why you wouldn't state the name of the surgeon? It will only benefit others that are possibly looking to get future hair transplants from them.

  15. There are a lot of clinics with two doctors, for example Hasson and Wong, I have come to find out that the team each doctor uses is different. They use the same techniques, equipment, but the personnel is different. As with anything, you can request the doctor/team you want to perform your surgery. At the end of the day, what is good for one, is good for the other. Same goes for True and Dorin.

  16. They're professionals. It's your surgery changing your appearance for life and your money. If they were to take it personally you would have to question whether you want to have surgery there. By all means it's your right and in no way disrespectful, etc.

  17. So I had my first FUT procedure at Hasson and Wong in 2016. It yielded about 4700 grafts. I'm now ready to do another HT and I'm thinking of going with the same procedure and same clinic. I know FUT is not as popular as used to be, but I feel like another FUT procedure is the logical way to go for the following reasons: 1. Obviously I still have my first scar from my first FUT surgery and so I don't think I would be loosing much ground with another FUT procedure because the first scar will ultimately be replaced by the second. 2. By going with another FUT I feel like this is the best

  18. Hi all, I have completed 3 months of hair transplant from Eugenix Gurgaon centre.( Date of transplant 30 Dec 2020) The shedding phase should be over by now and I am expecting some 50% growth in the next few months. My overall experience has been really good and painless. There was numbness in the first 2 months, but it went away gradually. I am currently on Finasteride 1 mg, but I take it twice a week. Hoping to see good hair growth in the coming months, will be sharing more pictures then.

  22. Based on my research you would need about 500-1000 grafts for that (I'm only talking about the side areas and not considering anything on the front). I have heard surgeons do take hair from the head for beard because they are quite compatible but scarring at the back of head might be a problem. You seem to have very questionable donor hair on the head and it's probably not predictable which ones will survive. Why not use hair under the chin which no one can see anyway? I made a similar post where someone from Dr Bisanga's team replied. Please check it out.

  23. I probably should have mentioned I tried minoxidil for a long time and it did work but eventually stopped sprouting new hairs. I’m wary this post is becoming a battleground for finasteride so let’s stop that discussion lol. if anyone can answer my questions I’d be very grateful. 👍🏽

  24. Hi @Jnass, I am the coordinator of HDC clinic in Cyprus Nicosia with Dr. Maras and Dr. Christina. I think you will need around 2500-3500 grafts. You donor looks very strong above the average, I will be glad to assist and quote you in private. Only our MD doctors do the surgical parts and the staff using microscopes to divide the single grafts. You're also welcome to our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/326632715435825/?ref=share I myself had a repair procedure by Dr. Maras.

  28. I have mental health/migraine issues that have been stabilized on medication. Knowing that depression, anxiety and migraines are possible complications for Finasteride users does anyone else have experience with psychiatric issues and the addition of Finasteride. I know the research I've reach is hazy on the subject and imagine most people will say it was a none issue for them, but I'm particularly interested in people who struggle or manage mental illness such as depression, anxiety, Bipolar, schizophrenia, panic, ect.. anything and everything in this realm as well as migraines, TMJ, tension

  31. Years ago when the Merck reps visited the clinic, I recall the many conversations we had about the subject. Back then there was no generic. the verbiage included "there is more testosterone with the med than without" so, you should be wanting more, not less. The patent expired and then came Finasteride, (which is now available as a 1mg tab). Back then, however, you had to split the 5 mg tab, (which is still being done today). The issue with this is the fact that the tab does not come pre-scored. So you really never get .25mg regularly, this will vary. That being said, side effects were a

  32. When you say you quit cold turkey. Is it because you need to ease off the drug or you wanted to wait longer to see if continuance of the drug would stop side effects? Have you heard of anyone with luck with this method? I’m only taking .25mg every day right now. I assume you were on 1 mg a day?

  33. Month 5 Update My best month so far. Lots of new growth and noticeable density improvement. I still have some pimples (ingrown hairs) coming through, as expected. There are still some thinner, lagging areas, visible in harsh light. But I'm actually able to use hair product (thickening paste) now and that's exciting, too.

  35. Day 3 update: These has been some sort of swelling in the forehead area from yesterday. I'm regularly massaging the forehead from both thumbs as suggested by the doctor. The donor area is healing rapidly but feeling some burning sensation on the left side donor.

  36. A brilliant question Melvin and I'm a little stunned as to why it's not far more readily available. Also I stagger to imagine how many hair transplant candidates would consider a transplant if it were more accessible (like finasteride). Not to mention the benefit for those who have had a hair transplant.

  41. You have a habit of making convenient assumptions and apparent statements of fact without any data to back them up. How many are in this majority you speak of? You have no way to quantify how many guys are not even trying to take finasteride because they are afraid of side effects. Are you traveling around the country interviewing every young bald guy you see and compiling your results? or know someone that is? Please post those results.

  42. @follically challenged Here’s a good starting point our full galley. We have thousands of before and after photos from all of our recommended surgeons. You can select based on baldness scale. Start looking for similar characteristics and then consult with the doctors that impress you directly from there. https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Share-info/hairloss-photos-men.asp Heres an example for Dr. Wong this guy has baby soft blonde hair https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Share-info/hairloss-photos-men.asp?offset=420
