In need of advice for next hair transplant

Hello folks,

Firstly thanks to everyone who provide their opinions regularly on this forum, although this is my first post many of you have provided me with a lot of useful information over the past couple of years.

My story: Currently 22 years old male from London, started losing my hair at a very young age, got an FUE transplant at the age of 21!! In this thread I do not want to say who was my chosen surgeon, as I am going to write a full thread on my experience and before/after pictures etc. So at the time of my transplant I was on propecia, but unfortunately I had to stop taking the drug due to sides 6 months ago. I now use Finasteide gel (topical). Anyway, I had 3000 FUE grafts and it was an amazing result, however my hair loss is progressing and it doesn't look as good now. I use toppik and with that it looks good.

My plans: So I think a few people will think that my best option would be to wait, but I am planning on getting another hair transplant. My donor area is no longer plentiful, but I have been told I have 3,000-4,000 scalp hair remaining. I am thinking about going to Dr Umar for a transplant consisting of 1/3 scalp and 2/3 beard grafts, and adding density to the whole top of my head. I would keep the hair buzzed down and combine it with temporary smp. Dr Umar said that from the pictures, he estimates this could be achieved with 3,000-4,500 grafts (1/3 scalp, 2/3 beard). My thinking is that, say if I got 4,500 grafts, that would bring my total up to 7,500 grafts. This should provide adequate coverge in the nw5 area, right?

The purpose of this thread was to get impartial advice, I am already grateful for all that I have learned from this forum, and would appreciate some advice on my specific case.

Cheers,

Ronnie

i really don't recommend you to go to rasul yaman clinic, you will see on internet that he is famous , but he is actually a busniessman , he know how to market himself,
all the work done by his technitions ,
my concerns :
1)rude interpreter .
2)posting my photos on social media without asking me , when i asked to stop the guy letraly said i will keep posting your photo everyday .
3)no follow ups after the surgey , if you have any question the interpreter will answer it from his own without reaching out to the dr .

Coloring Transplanted Hair

I have seen a few threads on coloring transplanted hair but I wanted to see if there is anyone that has colored their transplanted hair in this group and are there any watchouts/concerns? I am 3 months post op and have quite a bit of hair growth after a 8000 graft transplant. I am wanting to blend the new hair in with my existing hair and possibly use something like "Toppik" to create a bit of density until my hair has really grown out in 12-18 months. There seems to be mixed advice on when you can color your new hair...I have heard you can color once the area has healed properly (3- 4 weeks) but I have heard as much as only after 5 months you can color the hair.
Many Thanks

Dr.Cinik 4300 Grafts (2600 Hair+ 1400 Beard +300 Chest) Pain Free Operation

I am 43 years old with Norwood 6 Baldness Scale had a Pain Free Operation with Dr. Cinik. The reason I chose pain free operation I have Needle Phobia. My donor area was not strong enough, my doctor decided to use my beard and chest area. Now, It has been 5 days already. All my donor areas healed nicely. Dr. Cinik was able to pull out 1400 grafts from my beard, which was very impressive and my beard already recoved nicely. I am so excited to see result.

FUE Feedback Needed

Hi, So I got around 2700 FUE grafts from a reputable clinic in Europe after years of research to ensure I get a good result. Attached are pics before and after at the 8 months mark. No complications during procedure or after. I wanted to ask the opinion of the experts here in terms of what you feel the result is. At the 8 months mark should I be seeing better density. Does this look like it will need a repair or is it too early to say that ? Need to understand this because I had limited donor supply to begin with and if I need a repair then that will impact that too. Uploading pics at start, after a month and then at 8 months.

Tricopigmentation with Nicole Large at Shapiro Medical

I did three session with Nicole. The photos were taken immediately afterward because I had to catch a plane. With Tricopigmentation the ink lightens every day for a few days so the final results were more natural-looking then the photos. I highly recommend Tricopigmentation for anyone who can pull off the shaved head look or doesn't have enough hair to make surgery work. And you can't find anyone better than Nicole. The procedure has increased my confidence and made me feel comfortable again.

Day 3 February 19, 2018

Today is day 3 from precedure. Feel great! Face around eyes are slightly swollen. Again no pain. I will be going out today to do some errands. Today is a Holiday so I will be going back to work tomorrow. However, I have been working on computer each day during and after procedure. I can see hair line that was put in and I can not wait until after six months to a year to see exactly how this will look!

Scott's Hair Loss and Regrowth Journey

Today is my first day at home from 2 day procudure with Dr.Anil Shah who is located in Watertower at 845 N. Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Believe me I was scared to death to get this done as I do not like needles and yes I had several shots. However they made the 2 day procedure as painless as it possible could be. One reason is they use a robot called ARTAS. This helps to minimize the pain by having the most advanced robot ever used for this procedure that not only minimizes any pain, but has the highest results and no linear scars or plugs. My procedure was Thursday and Friday where they harvested 1,500 hairs and transplanted back into the areas that needed to be filled in. I also had Cellular PRP which will also help to achieve the highest results. I will blog daily on how this journey is going. I will start with 1 picture from top of my head day before to 3 pictures of me today. No pain today at all. Only slightly swollen face as you are face down for allot of the procedure as the robot is doing its thing.

Dr. Rahal Review - 2,431 grafts

If you are looking for one of the best hair restoration clinics in the world, look no further than Rahal. Last August (2017), I had a follicular unit extraction (FUE) procedure performed (2,431 grafts, 4,811 hairs total) in order to restore my hairline and areas in the frontal core of my scalp. Initially, I was highly skeptical that my hair could be restored. I had heard over and over again that if you were disposed to male pattern baldness you didn't have many options outside of shaving your head. Wow, was I wrong! Only three months into the growth period (with another six months to go), I have a new hairline and zero self-consciousness about my hair anymore! So, what makes Rahal different? Well, first off, as a Rahal patient you can expect to benefit from the most cutting edge hair restoration technology and scientific knowledge in the industry. Dr. Rahal and his team are consummate professionals, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to working with patients to determine the optimal course of action with respect to their unique hair loss situations and executing those plans to precision. During my experience with Rahal over the last seven months, I’ve learned so much about hair restoration, mostly because Dr. Rahal and his staff place a priority on educating patients about the process so that there is complete transparency and so that patients know exactly what they need to do on their own end post-op to achieve amazing results. Beyond Rahal’s superior technical expertise and execution, what you can also expect as a Rahal patient is the best customer service in the industry. Once I had scheduled my surgery, I was assigned to Sita, one of Dr. Rahal’s patient care coordinators, who has been nothing short of amazing in answering all of my questions, guiding me through the pre- and post-op processs, routinely checking in on my progress, and displaying personalized care and concern. Moreover, Mike, a member of Dr. Rahal’s expert surgical staff, in addition to his compassionate care during my procedure, provided me with his personal cell phone number and promptly responded, even on weekends, to my text messages when I had questions. Simply put, I have never experienced such outstanding customer care as I have with Rahal. They truly value and prioritize customer satisfaction. As an organizational psychologist by profession, I interact with many companies in my consulting endeavors. Without a shadow of a doubt, Rahal is one of the most impressive operations I’ve ever witnessed. From its unmatched hair restoration techniques to its company culture that oozes passion for transforming patient lives, Dr. Rahal and his staff are simply the best, period.

Coming up to the 2 months post FUE mark

so after 2 months how are things progressing?.....
I have to say between 6 weeks and 8 weeks literally nothing happens, your original hair grows back (short but growing) and all the scabs and bleeding has completely healed. Just this week I had my first hair cut since the op and its nice to get it shaved in a little shorter on the sides as it gives the sense of volume at the top which is all you can wish for whilst waiting for the new hairs to grow. I have to say my head is looking clean and the donor area after being shaved is brilliant even the hairdresser couldn't tell anything.
One thing I have really enjoyed using as your hair will get a little dry, particularly the scalp is coconut oil, it also seems to have taken down some of the redness which is always a great help.
Stay tuned and I will keep updating as the next few months are when we should hopefully see little small hairs starting to come through and that's the exciting bit.
My final tip would be to use Sainsbury's own brand baby shampoo as its paraben free and keeps the scalp from drying out

Until next month.....

5 Great Smoothies for Hair Growth!

I’m pretty young and have already started seeing some problems with my hairline receding, and so I figured it was never too early to start taking care of my hair and my body so that I can keep my hair for as long as possible.
I’m not quite ready to get involved with any serious hair chemicals like Rogaine, and honestly I’m not too interested in that either when I see there are more naturopathic treatments available that can do just as good, at least where I’m at right now.
Having healthy hair and skin is generally based off of your overall diet, as well as other factors, but eating greens and fruits on a regular basis does wonders in terms of maintaining and rejuvenating the strength of your scalp, which then can lead to stronger, thicker hair.
Of course it’s not always in the cards for everyone to take the time to get a healthy few servings of fruits and vegetables every single day because it simply takes too long and we’re all so busy with our jobs and such, but that’s why I’ve turned to a faster alternative of smoothies by using my blender and vegetable juicer to cut down on the time it takes for me to get the healthy nutrients my scalp needs.
So what I’ve done here in this article is compile five of my favorite smoothies that are known to help out balding guys and really anyone who is looking to strengthen their hair, so enjoy and feel free to try these out on your own!
Sweet Potato Smoothie
This may seem a little strange, but sweet potato smoothies actually taste fantastic, and they are AMAZING for hair growth because they have so much vitamin A. Even just eating sweet potatoes in your regular diet can make a major difference in terms of your hair growth and skin tone, but that vitamin A will do wonders for your scalp strength.
Ingredients:
1 small sweet potato (cooked)
1 medium sized banana
2 cups of almond milk
Kale, Lemon and Apple Smoothie
This smoothie seems a little bit more traditional in terms of the apple sweetness, but that kale is going to give you the perfect amount of leafy greens you need on a regular basis, and it will go down really smoothly too. The lemons also are really beneficial in terms of eliminating any toxins within your hair, and the apple has a tremendous amount of fiber, which also helps too. Apples also have a heavy dosage of vitamin A and E and in general are great for helping your hair and skin shine.
Ingredients:
2 cups of kale (stalks removed)
½ of lemon (rind removed)
1 medium sized apple
½ cup of liquid base of your choice (milk or juice would work well)
Berry Blend Smoothie
Berries of all types are great for hair growth because they are rich in antioxidants, and of course they taste amazing in smoothies! What’s so great about the antioxidants in berries is that they promote cell regeneration, which then can lead to the regeneration of hair follicles. When you’re utilizing antioxidants and regenerating hair follicles you’ll put yourself in a place for success in terms of hair health.
Ingredients
1 cup of mixed berries
1 1/2 cup of water
1 tbsp of Chia seeds
Spinach Almond Blast Smoothie
This is an all-time classic smoothie that helps hair growth that I drink all the time, and it’s effective and tasty too. The peanut butter gives a good chocolate type of flavor that blends in well with the subsequent nutrients. Vitamin A and C are in abundance in this smoothie, which helps with scalp circulation and overall follicle development. This is a great smoothie for absorbing iron too!
Ingredients:
1 ½ cup of almond milk (vanilla or plain)
1 banana
1 tablespoon of peanut butter (natural)
3-4 kale leaves
Handful of spinach
Cucumber, Apple and Honey Smoothie
The silicone and sulfur in this smoothie are great ingredients that help with hair growth, and the honey is awesome for elasticity and moisture retention.
Ingredients:
1 cup of spinach
½ of medium cucumber
1 tablespoon of honey
1 medium sized apple

So enjoy these smoothies and feel free to reach out to me with an questions you may have!

Worst H.T. Experience

1st HT (1500 grafts at AK Clinics, Ludhiana) June 2010
2nd HT (4000 grafts at Reviva Clinic, Chandigarh(India) June 2011 ---- As one sitting already done and after seeing no result and awkward scalp situation i need to go for another HT to correct the earlier bad HT. I again found some clinics on the internet and went to consult at Reviva clinic, Chandigarh. Here i met Dr. Pradeep Sohi and he told me that there are so many patients came to him from AK clinics to repair bad HT done by them. He has shown me some pictures as well for the repaired cases. I got confidence on him and after having long discussion we finalized the date for HT. As i have already done one siting earlier so i was totally aware of the complete procedure already. Procedure started at 9 - 9.30 am and finished by 6 0'clock in the evening considering lunch break for half an hour. They have planted 4000 grafts to repair the earlier bad HT and to cover front hair line of the head. Well, after passing time i found better results from the earlier done HT but not up to mark here also ( results were 40-50% only). I visited the clinic after 9 -10 months to consult the doctor for less growth the doctor told me that i need one more sitting for improve the density of the hairs .

3rd HT (3000 grafts at Reviva Clinic, Chandigarh(India) Feb 2012 ---- Nothing new ,,, same clinic same procedure same time. They took one day and said we have covered all your head with 3000 grafts and told we have improved the density of earlier HT and covered center area of the head also. Now you do not need any further HT. I was so happy to see the results. Another shock in life, bad results again ( only upto 30 - 40%). No density improved and so thin hairs on the center of my head and further i have noticed my crown also getting bald now which earlier was ok. I got so scared and was in so much depression that after doing 3 HT sitting i have not seen any much improvement in the hairs. I visited Dr. Pradeep Sohi and he told due to some shock hair loss my other hairs getting thin and crown area is getting bald. I need 2000 more grafts to cover my crown and center are density. They said they will charge the same price as a discount to me as i have already done 2 HT sitting earlier. Well no choice i said yes.

4th HT (2000 grafts at Reviva Clinic, Chandigarh(India) Mar 2013 ---------- Same, 2000 grafts transplanted out which 500 grafts were taken from beard area (this is a new part for me and it is a painful part believe me). They took full one day again and After procedure i was not even in position to talk properly for some hours due to beard procedure involved.Dr. Pradeep Sohi now told, your hairs are completely covered now, no place left bald and now finally i do not need any further sitting. Well after waiting for another 1 year i am at the same stage ( even worst than earlier) -- see the attached pics

5th HT (2500 grafts at Kyra Cilinic, Ludhina (India) August 2016 ---------- 2500 grafts transplanted from back head + beard donor are by Dr. Vikas Gawri and team in front area of the head to increase the density of the fron hariline look...........

So, guys now i have shared my whole HT sittings with you but till date my hairs condition is worst. I am attached some pics of my current hairs you can as follows:

- Hairs direction is totally wrong

- So much thinning of hairs even after transplanting 10,500 grafts...........

- Donor area completely used, left with no hairs ( even it looks bald now :-(

I have heard about this website from a friend of mine who told me to put my whole story here for better consultation.

Please guide me what further procedures should i opt to normalize my hairs condition as of now i am so embarrassing situation and it really lowering my confidence level. I still need to put a cap for going outside to attend some parties or roaming with friends to hide my head.

Please guide...............

5021 Grafts with Dr. Koray Erdogan - 18/01/2018

Hello Forum Members;
Normally i do not post online however this forum has helped me great deal to understand hair transplant and different techniques existed . I will make it short because i know many of you have read so many blogs and forums just like me before the surgery.
Straight to the point, it took me more than 3 years to decide on performing FUE and choosing the right Dr.
I had few options available but in the end i went with Dr. Koray Erdogan just because he has some good results .
Dr. Koray Erdogan quoted me 5500 grafts in online consultation. I was happy with it because i am NW5 and i was greedy for more grafts
I will not go through the experience of going to Turkey from Australia and how good is ASMED clinin and his staff. You can find plenty of information about it.
But just one line. The clinic is state of the art and his staff is really professional. My Interpreter was Esen and she was really helpful.
Initial Consultation
on 17/1/2018 i had my initial face to face consultation with Dr. Erdogan and we discussed my hair loss condition and realistic restoration plan.
I wasn't happy with the frontal line he draw but when he explained to me the limited number of donor grafts and to achieve better density it was necessary to go with natural looking hairline for my age rather than unrealistic see through hairline .
The plan was ready for next day. I met few other guys at the clinic who were scheduled for same day surgery. So it was good fun at hotel.
Surgery Day 18/01/2018
First 2500 grafts were extracted and implemented on day 1 in the frontal area. There is little discomfort but at the end of the day it is cosmatic surgery and it is not really painful.
Surgery Day 19/01/2018
The remaining 2512 grafts were extracted and implanted in vertex and Crown area.
First Wash 20/01/2018
The clinic performed the wash and provided me the video instructions ,shampoo and other documents on what to avoid for next 6 months.
I flew out on same day and the driver dropped me to the airport.

There is itchiness here and there but overall i am doing really well. For me the pain of surgery was not an issue but i was more worried about post surgery care .
I am paranoid about accidently hitting my head and destroying the grafts. Although i did bump my head on couple of occassions but the clinic responded really well and restored my grafts ( 2 of them).
Other than that i am taking care of grafts well so far.
Today is the 5th day of my second surgery and i am back home after long flight ( Istanbul to Melbourne).

Now is the waiting game
