I noticed the vertex area going thin about ten years ago and was in denial about it, hoping that it would stop but it just progressed more during the course of the years. I'm thankfull for the decent hairline that I have but I felt a bit silly walking around with a full, lush head of hair everywhere except for the affected portion of my scalp. I have absoultely NO signs of balding anywhere else other than on the top.
I found myself doing alot of research online, what products to buy and how much would I end up spending in the long run. I tried using rogaine and had great results, unfortunately after about 4 months of using the product, my scalp became inflamed and irritated. I developed thick, ugly scabs on top of my head and was forced to stop using the product. As the scabs fell, so did all the newly regrown hair.
I thought about using topix and hair3 but then ran through all sorts of scenarios in my head. What if it rains? What if I'm at a party and a water balloon fight breaks out? It wasnt worth the trouble.
Guys, there is no shame with contemplating this surgery and if you can do it, then DO IT. It doesnt make you metro or anything else, it just helps us feel better about ourselves.
I visited this site and made up my mind to have the procedure done by Dr. Meshkin. So far im 6 days out and I am really encouraged by what I see. As soon as I figure out how to post my pics (pre and post op) I will definitley do it. I'm waiting on my brother to get back from vacation this way he can take some great shots of Dr. Meshkins work.
