Sun damage also damages the scalp’s connective tissue and alters the blood supply. Because of this, we prefer to transplant large, but not excessive numbers of grafts in the first session, in order to maximize growth. Once the first transplant is performed, the rich blood supply returns to the scalp and additional grafts may be supported.
