Hi Osris, is that the Pre op of you in your Avatar??
you seem to have good coverage for the number of grafts used. How do you feel about the density? will you be getting another procedure to fill in the crown? Are you on Propecia to prevent further hair loss Thanks, Hussein

Hi Hussein, yes the avatar is me pre-op.
At the moment, the density differs under different lighting conditions. I should have explained, that these photos were taken in July of this year and so are not recent. The reason I posted them now was that I was waiting for them to be emailed to me from the Farjo clinic where they were taken. The most recent ones of me can be found here: Hair Restoration Journal for osris - 9 months after surgery - August 2012 These were taken in August by me at home. As you can see, the hair appears denser, due to the lighting conditions in the room where the photos were taken. The room has a lot of natural daylight coming in, which gives the appearance of more density. There might even be actual density there, since these photos are more recent than the ones from the Farjo clinic. My digital camera is broke, so I can’t take any photos of my hair as it currently is, to post here. When I get a new camera I will be able to continue my photo updates. The density now when I look in the mirror of my bathroom, which has very harsh lighting, is slightly better than in the Farjo clinic photos. This might be due to an actual increase in density or the shingling effect of the way I comb my hair. When my hair is combed straight back from my forehead there is less density, which I expect is normal for most HTs on men who had the amount of baldness I had to cover. I can see a few tiny hairs beginning to grow at the hairline, so hopefully more density will come. At any rate, I’m happy with the results so far, and have realistic expectations about the eventual results. I hope to get another procedure for the crown once my finances are sorted out. No, I don’t take Propecia to prevent further hair loss as I am 49, and expect that further hair loss will be minimal. My father had the same pattern of hair loss as me until his death at the age of 80, and he stopped losing it around the age of 50. |
