Default Graft calculator on this site

Hi All

I have a question regarding the calculator on this site. I know it clearly states that this tool doesnt replace the need for a consoltation, but my query is with the graft count to hair count ratio.

I am of the understanding that the average number of hairs per graft is 2.2 when I have used this to check on the crown area the rate is nearly 2.7. This is quite a big difference. Especially when I have read so many cases where the counts have been approx 1.8.

I know everyone is different, but I would of thought the calculater would be set as an average.

Can anyone explain, or may be I have my figures wrong??

Thanks

The answer is in your question... 2.7 + 1.8 / 2 = 2.25, so the figure of 2.2 will be the average.

From my understanding, this I believe is because doctors use more of the single grafts at the hair line and front part of the scalp to give a softer and more natural appearance, whereas they use multi-hair grafts in the back for more density/coverage.
