Default With average laxity/density how many grafts can you FUT without risking tightness?

not exactly sure what you mean by risking tightness but I had 1300 grafts with fut which is a pretty low number of grafts for fut these days and i experienced tightness after operation. however the tightness fades as days pass and once staples come out it basically goes away, if you do have any discomfort after staples it really is minor discomfort at best. These opinions are my own and certainly varies patient to patient.

I am talking about the tightness that stays with you forever. 1300 will not cause permanent tightness. If you get a lot more than that, you risk having permanent tightness.

By the way I am 3 months after a 2800 FUT, and I still have a lot of tightness.

I understand even 2800 FUT does not risk permanent tightness. But I plan to keep getting more FUT's.

Three months is early to judge this. Tightness can easily last up to a year or even a little more--you would likely start to regain laxity starting at month 6 at it would likely get better as time goes on.

I am starting to wish I got FUE. This tightness is really uncomfortable. And I am afraid to lift weights even now because I am afraid, with all the tightness, that it will stretch the scar.

I'm sorry about the tightness you're experiencing. Have you spoken to your doc about this? What did he say? Has he told you when he thinks you can safely resume weightlifting?

Well, my doc said you can lift weights after 7 days. But other people on this forum have recommended waiting 3 months.

I know other doctors recommend waiting much longer than 7 days to lift weights.

I understand that everyone has at least some tightness at month 3. So I don't understand how people can lift weights already. Won't the scar be stretched as long as you are feeling tightness.

I haven't mentioned the tightness to my doc. He said to see him at the 6 months point, so I figured I would mention it then. I can't imagine there is anything one can do for it.

How large of a donor strip did he remove for your grafts?

2800 grafts. I understand that to be not large at all.
