Default Post op prediction

Im two weeks out and have kept almost all my grafts thus far. Although, I still have many months to go before I start seeing progress, can I determine if enough grafts were applied to the recipient area. I understand they are short and thin and will get thicker down the road but just a little paranoid if I will was given enough coverage. Is there anyway to tell at this stage in the game? Thanks

You can get a general idea of the placement of grafts at 2 weeks post op but I really don't think you can tell at this point if you got enough grafts simply by looking at the scalp. You can, however, be able to tell better by the graft and hair count you received. Pictures with graft/hair count is helpful. Do you have the surgery data?

Can you check with your clinic for the hair count? They should have it in your chart. With that info and pics, we can get a better idea of the coverage as you'll still have some redness in the recipient area. If no hair count is available, maybe you can ask if you have average donor density. Then you can estimate the area of coverage by the total number of grafts to get approximate density. The math is something like this - take total number of grafts - 2200 in this case divided by area covered (let's say 70cm2 for an example) = 31 grafts per cm2. If you have any native hairs before surgery, you'd add that per cm2 to 31. Hope that makes sense. In any case, best of luck with healing and growth. Keep us updated of your progress.
