Following the hair restoration procedure, there is some redness, crusting and the stubble of transplanted hair that feels like a one-week old beard.

Over the next few weeks the transplanted hair is shed and the scalp returns to normal. At two to three months after the procedure the follicles begin to produce new hair. The hair is initially very fine, but over the course of a year gradually thickens into permanent, terminal hair.
