Default Dr. Lindsey, very fine haired man 2 years out from 2 cases, app 5500 grafts McLean VA

This fellow came in 2 years ago for 3000 grafts up front. Then a year later we did 2500 grafts. He has a really nice result. He does have VERY FINE hairs and that limits the overall density even with really tight packing. And tight packing of course limits how far we can go back.. But he looks good and is quite happy. Shown are preop pics, intraop #1 pics, 1 month, 10 months and 2 years. For you camera-philes, I took pictures last week with and without flash for completeness.

I think this shows just how important hair caliber is. Even at 5500 hairs, his vertex appears thin. Also, with the fine hairs, you can see that how tight the hairline is actually packed.

Not to mention this gentleman had severe hairloss. I consider this quite an undertaking and would not have been shocked if he would have been truned away for a proceedure based on the caliber of hair and area of treatment.

That said, with realistic expections, this also goes to show that almost anyone can receive treatment and have a hairline again.

Thanks for the comments.

I think I mentioned this in an earlier post on this guy.

After his second surgery, I get a text message from this fellow, who knows I'm an avid skier. He is standing at the top of the bowl at Aspen Highlands showing off his new hair to his best friend, and his best friend's younger brother....who happened to sit beside me during my residency. Small world, and I'm glad to have had the occasion to work with him.
