Default What is the best type of hair

to have for a transplant?? Obviously thick, but aside from that would it be coarse or fine? Would gray hair be better than brown?

Blonde or gray hair, or hair that is close to the color of the scalp. Also, curly hair helps a lot.

Rcwest is right. Gray or blonde hair show less contrast. Thick, curly hair will provide netter coverage. But smart graft placement and hairstyling are also key when it comes to layering for maximum scalp coverage.

I've always wondered this as well. I have seen some amazing results with all types of hair. Granted, I think some hair types need more use of grafts to achieve optimal results. But I think graft placement probably plays a big role in this as well. Some people achieve a perfect transplant with only 1600 grafts, while some need two or three procedures to get a similar result.

I'd like to see results with similar hair characteristics as mine so I can get an idea myself. But it's hard to tell online, who may have similar characteristics, densities, etc.
