I'm at the six month and two week mark. Everything looks a lot more natural than before but I'm hoping those little wiry hairs fatten up...
Let me know what you think.

It is difficult to compare since before and after pics have different lighting. In any case, still very early in the growth phase. Beside you should be happy that those plugs are off!

Dewayne,
You can expect a lot of thickening over the next 6 months. Where it was especially noticeable for me was under harsh lighting. Though in my experience, most hair had at least started to grow, by 12 months, the fattening of the follicles made a huge difference that you will soon see. You are looking good so far my friend. Best wishes, Bill

Your welcome Carl, I'm glad to do anything I can to help people feel better about their hair, or lack therof.
I'm feeling 10x better than I did before or immediately after the the transplant, but I was hoping for the growth that some guys have at six months. I can see where the hairs have grown, and are there, but I'm hoping they'll thicken up pretty rapidly over the next few months. I will say that, for the first time in 17 years, I don't think the average person can tell I have had a transplant. While there are still some of the old plugs in the top of my head, the front and crown looks very natural and the plugs are hard to find now.

I'm very happy with the looks of my head now, compared to where I was; always trying to hide the poor results from my last transplant. So, while I feel great that I'm no longer worried someone knows I've had a poor transplant, I do not feel like I'm not bald. I sort of wish I'd went for about 4,000 grafts now but for a couple of reasons I didn't. First, I didn't initially want to go from very, very thin to obviously not bald. Secondly, I was more comfortable with the $10k investment than the $15k for another 1500 or so. I thought about dense packing into the front 1/3, but finally decided I just wanted the most natural appearance I could get with 2,500 grafts. Having said all this, I do think in another couple of months all those smaller hairs that have grown in will thicken up.

Dewayne,
Your first picture actually looks quite good (prior to the ht), perhaps its lighting - or perhaps there was no wind that day. In your 3 days pic (the first one, without the comb), it is impossible to tell you have had anything done - at least that is what it appears to me - perhaps the quality of the pic. How do you fare with the wind now? is it less of an issue? Your hairline definitely looks a lot better now. |
