I was very pleased when I met this patient because he had a good hair transplant by a reputable doctor in the previous few years. He was happy with the work but like so many hair patients, "hair greed" kicked in and he wanted his hairline to be much thicker. So we planned one procedure of DENSE ultra-refined lateral slit FUTs. We cut his hair and packed in and around every single graft to insure the highest density of coverage with the least amount of trauma to the previous grafts.

Dr. Lindsey,
Thank you for posting. Do you have an approximate hair density in follicular unit grafts per square centimeter that you can provide for us? From the immediately postoperative photos, the grafts do not appear to be too densely packed together. Thanks, Bill

Thanks for the post Bill.
At first glance it may not look densely packed, but that's because I shaved and hopped over the old follicular units he already had. This leaves what look like gaps in the hairline when in reality there are already transplants there. I avoided the old hairs so as not to hurt them, but packed in about 2-3 hairs between every 2 hairs he had from his last transplant. Look at the video or the photos that aren't so close up and you will get a much better sense of the density. Very few presented hairlines are as dense as this one, you just can't allowed yourself to be fooled by the prior grafts that were shaved and avoided on this hairline. 1,500 grafts into an area this size with pre-exisiting grafts makes this an ultra-dense packed hairline indeed.

I was going to add that the zoomed in photo is somewhat deceiving as Dr. Lindsey stated. With the native hairs shaved it does indeed look a little sparse. When looking at the photos that are not zoomed in you can more easily appreciate the density. Should be a good result.

This gentleman was just in for a scar check and is doing great. No significant scar. Just waiting for the grafts to turn on.
More pics coming. Dr. Lindsey RESTON, VA
