Post made by Dr Feller patient "Pete"

Here is how my H.T experience went with Dr .Feller.

2600 + grafts - with tricho closure

My bro Ian and i travelled to new York on wednesday 8th Feb with Virgin airlines, which are a good airline to fly with as they have personal t.v's in every headrest so you can watch all the latest film, soaps and games, which really helps pass the time

We stayed at the Hotel New Yorker on 8 th ave at 34st, which is on par with the Pennsylvania hotel that we stayed at, when Ian had his H.T 4 months ago. The advantages of the new yorker is that you are in amongst it a bit more, with Duane reede pharmacist literally across the road, so getting the presciption is no bother at all, and their are a lot of restauraunts on the same block.

H.T DAY.

We hailed down a taxi to Great Neck which took about 30 mins from our hotel and cost $50. You can get a train from Penn station which is only a block away from the hotel, but we took a cab just for the ease.

We met with Dr. Feller at 7.45 am and he wanted to check out his handy work on Ian, and took some pix, he was very happy with his progress, and impressed with his growth at the 4 mth stage.

Once that was done he called me into the office and we went over what harline would best suit me, he nailed it first time, and as i had a few stragglers hanging on in there, he could easily find my natural hairline.
Ive been using PROSCAR for about 7mths, REGAINE for 4 mths, MSM and nizoral shampoo, which i think has held off/slowed down any more loss and have even noticed some new growth on the hairline.

Once the hairline was drawn in he made sure a was perfectly happy with it, and said he could make adjustments if i wanted, which shows he cares for the patients needs and wasn'nt pushy at all.

We then went into the op room and he drew where he would remove the donor hair, it was then buzzed down as well as buzzing the recipient area.
We then went into another room to numb the area where the donor tissue would be removed, you lay on your front as if you were having a massage (so im told). he then injected the area.
I was expecting more pain than i had, and it was'nt that bad at all, kind of like a wasp sting but number, if that makes any sence.

We then headed back into the OP room for the donor removal. He did 2 thing different than with my bro no 1. he used the tricho method into the scar.
2. he used staples rather than stiches, which is meant to hold the tissue in place better, the only down side to this is, it apparently hurts a bit more when they are removed, but i wont know for another 6 days when Ian removes them .
He gave Ian a quick lesson on removing them and gave him a staple remover, i think i might have a bottle or 2 before he takes them out .

Feller then numbed the recipient area which i found a bit more painful, and if you pull a hair out of the side of your wrist, fairly slowly, that is what it feels like, but once he has done 2 or 3 it all goes numb.
He then made the slits for the grafts while the techs were sifting through the grafts, preping them for my new hairline.
I then got comfy for the 6 hr placement of the grafts and dozed off a few times, we had a small break half way through and showed ian my progress.

Once i was all cleaned up we went through the meds and does / don'ts and headed back to the hotel.

All in all a great day with the start of my new hairline.
I would like to thank Dr.Feller and his team, they are all very welcoming and clearly know what their doing.

I will update pix every month so you can all see the progress

Sorry for the long post i got carried away

I think its the illusion of the staples being wider than the normal sutures making it look higher up on the doner area.

How long has Dr. Feller been performing his version of the tricho technique?

Thanks,

All, The first thing I noticed was the height of the scar. It looks to me to be a little high for comfort. It could be the photo incorrectly gives us this impression, but the impression is there.
Specs-- perhaps you could post some additional photos in order to clear this up? Also, could you tell us where the strip is in relation to the small bump (occipital protuberance) that most HT doc's use a guide for the safe area? Everything else looks good, as this gentleman can look forward to a nice hairline and a fuller hairline in the near future.

Guitarplayer - I believe he has been performing it for a few months now.

I have no other pics as i literally copied and pasted this post from another forum. I will endeavour to get you guys questioning the scars position some different pics.

I personally think its well within the safety zone. It's Dr Feller that performed this surgery - not Bosley!

For info my scar from Dr Hasson's HT is at the same height, if not slightly higher. I agree with specs that both Dr Feller and Dr Hasson know what they're doing and would not take hair out of a non-permanent area.
