This man had had multiple previous hair transplants and had 5 non-parallel scars on his donor region. We did a 1500 graft strip which incorporated 3 of his previous scars. This tension free closure pic should result in him being able to go from 5 to 3 scars, and a potential case next year will get him down to 1 linear scar and a portion of another which runs tangential to donor strips.

Had he not previously had multiple surgeries and a relatively tight scalp, we may have been able to get another scar out with this procedure, however, we would rather know that our scar will be acceptable than to try for too much on one case.

I have a lot of rows of scars, so I'm definitely interested in this although I'm not sure it would work for me and I'm afraid to try it. What if the upper scar was at the edge of the balding area from years of more hair loss? Would it still be viable to try extracting a few? Maybe then add the new donor grafts from between the scars into the area just above the upper scar to build the sides and back up? What are your thoughts on this?

It's hard to tell what the finished product looks like! Though I'm sure the patient is extatic to go from 5 scars to 3.

BeHappy, yes probably, depends on the individual.

Dakota3, will try to post final product next spring; he sure seems pleased.

Thanks
