Hi !
I would like to ask you what you think about the result from my hair transplant. In 2004 I had an operation with an very well known doctor and I`m not satisfied with the outcome. This surgery was number 6 and before I had 5 operations with other doctors (all 6 operations with strip). In amount (all 6 operations) 4500 grafts and operation number 6 was 1900 grafts. My disappointment most about the hairline which was lowered by 1 cm and the density behind which is approximately 35 grafts per sqcm. What do you think about that result?I have to add that I made an complaint after one year but they showed no willingness to give me an free correction. Thanks for your comments ! Regards Hackethal from Germany |

Sorry to hear about your disappointment .
I would also be upset. A quality doctor could improve your situation tremendously. Do you care to tell us who the clinic was? |

Ive seen some excellent work out of this clinic lately ,especially from Dr Michaels or something like that.

Hey krolock,
It wd be little more helpful if there were some pre surgery photos too. Judging by these snaps the hair density does look on the lower side ...also the hairline is quite receded and still sparse. I am curious to know why did you choose such low numbers of grafts for each transplant.4500 grafts in 6 surgeries( and 2600 in 5 before the final one) is on the lower side from what I have seen on this forum. Regards ! |

krolock,
Welcome to our hair restoration forum. I am sorry you are disappointed, but honestly, I don't think your hair looks bad. Pulling your hair back is probably amplifying any issues that you are seeing as problematic. Can you provide photos of before surgery and after without pulling your hair back? Without photos before your last surgery, making a proper evaluation is impossible. I would venture to say however, that adding some additional density and placing a few singles irregularly in the hairline will add to the cosmetic appeal. Best wishes, Bill

krolock,
I do see that you added a photo album here however, in all of the photos your hair is pulled back. I assume the density you are showing is follicular units per square cm? If so, it appears to be about 40 FU per square cm, which isn't bad at all. Where on your scalp is this being measured? Pictures before your last surgery and photos of your hair styled but not "pulled" would help us evaluate the success rate of the surgery. Best wishes, Bill

krolock,
I see you posted your photos before this surgery in this album. The pic you provided above does appear much more improved than before you had your 2004 surgery. How is your scar now after your surgery in 2004? Best wishes, Bill

Agree w Fal. You do look improved from previous surgery. I have seen a photo of a patient several years ago w/Dr.Shapiro who looked similar to yours, and Shapiro did wonders. Now given you have had 6 HT--hopefully harvest in similar areas with only 1-2 scars, donor depletion might be valid now. Only a personal consult will give you options. FUE good choice as well.
