danywell,i think you are going to be dissapointed with your results especially if your hair continues to thin.the grafts look to far apart and look quite large.only own opinion.ill let the more educated give their views.

Yeah, I do feel now that 1600 grafts was perhaps too conservative to cover the thinning area. Then again I was made to understand that a subsequent procedure may be done in the future to add density.
It was also unfortunate that I discovered this site only after having paid half for the procedure. I've spoken to one of their patients on the phone and he gave good feedback about his experience. Then I happen to meet another guy at the clinic during my consultation. He came back for his 2nd HT to the same doctor. Me - the uneducated, who hasn't seen a lot of how good HT looks like, was impressed. I mean, he's got hairs growing in his once totally bald pate, so yeah, I said I've gotta have mine too. What's done is done. I suppose I'll just have to manage with my expectations but hoping for the best. My experience as regards to the procedure itself was very nice though. I'm not having a lot of pain and was able to go to work just 3 days after the surgery. I'm due for a longer vacation though in 8 days time - to hide away and heal during the xmas holidays. Thanks for your comments though. |

As well, my initial reaction was that the grafts look huge; hopefully, though, all of the intended grafts pull through and the thinning slows down or ceases.
Either way, wish you the best -- and, if the results don't fully satisfy you, you can go into HT#2 armed to the teeth with information!

danywell,
Even though 1600 grafts may not give the desired hair density that you are looking for, you are starting out a lot like I am. My first surgery was 1600 grafts over a large balding area being a NW5A at the time. For 1600 grafts, the results turned out pretty good, but it left me desiring more - which is what led me to receive my next 2 hair transplants. The important thing for you to do at this point is to get on Propecia (finasteride) if you are not already in order to help combat future natural hair loss. Combining Propecia with Rogaine is the best line of defense you have against baldness. In the future, you can always go for more hair density. Selection of a quality hair restoration physician becomes vital in a successful hair transplant experience. Which physician at NuHart performed your surgery? Best wishes, Bill

danny,
i went through the same thing with my first HT only it was less grafts with 2s and 3s in the hailrine. the doctor, Joseph Karamikian in New York, turned out to be a very poor choice on my part. Luckily Dr. Feller was able to fill inbetween the mini grafts with true single hair fus. I will be posting my pics of both doc's work shortly and you will be amazed at the difference.

Thanks guys. Well, my doctor was Dr. Roomi. As I've previously mentioned, he told me beforehand that I will require subsequent procedures in the future.
I suppose those like me who were staring at their future "hairdo" everytime they look at their Dad's or uncle's bald head and who, at the same time, haven't seen a lot of successful FUT patient will understand how amazed I was when I finally saw one and was very eager, right there and then, to have my hair back on too. Btw, is finasteride a prescription medicine? My doc wouldn't give me one. He would only prescribe rogaine. But I've started taking MSM as I've read from here that it helps in keeping the native hair grow thick and alive. Maybe I'll also look out for those Knox gelatin. My scalp/ hair needs all the help it can get, hehe... |
