I can think of no other way to combine a beautiful vacation with a beautiful hair transplant procedure than to visit Dr. Tykocinski. Pat, the publisher of this community, personally visited Dr. Tykocinski's clinic a few months ago. Needless to say, he was extremely impressed with what he saw and was eager to invite the good doctor to join the Coalition of Independant Hair Restoration Physicians.

Thanks for writing in. I've been interested in some feedback regarding Tykocinski. I corresponded with him a year or two ago, and he indicated costs about half the current going rate here. ie... 1/2 my 2,000 f/u at $4.50 each (but my doc gave me 2236 at that price). I'm happy with my doctor.. very happy, but always looking for quality and value.

My concern with changing doctors, is that I might wind up getting a doc that chooses another way of doing the donor slice... I scar easily, so I don't want to criss-cross the back of my head with a bunch of stripes that become visible as I get older. I'm hoping that future procedures will untilize an incision that overlaps the existing scar, and retains a single line. Mine is a gently curving cut that start above and behind the upper tips of my ears, and swoops down to just at the occipital notch on the back of my cranium. (I've seen articles on scarring based on location) At least to the best of my recollection... It is hidden, and my physician used enough skin staples that it is as fine as a pencil line... but I still don't want a series of those. Dr T indicated in our correspondance that he might not use the same route for his donor strip as the previous, and so I backed away.

Your work looks good. and I'd welcome the chance to visit Sao Paulo again. Price of flights is cheap from the west coast, if you take the "milk run" down through central america, and across to Lima Peru, and then cross over to Sao Paulo... I priced r/t tickets at $560.00 last summer. I think I spent more than that going from San Fran > Miami > Sao Paulo
