Recently, Dr. Robert Dorin underwent his fourth hair restoration procedure. Dr. Dorin had three small procedures in 1999, 2000, and 2001 while he was in medical school. The sum of the transplanted grafts from these three procedures was about 2,200.

Dr. True suggested advancing Dr. Dorin's hairline a bit and refining the temples. Since Dr. Dorin's family history does not show advanced hair loss, it is not an overly-aggressive approach. A total of 1,037 follicular units were transplanted.

Be sure to check back in periodically as I will be uploading follow-up pictures documenting his progress.

I just uploaded new updated photos of 8 and 11 days post-op. The sutures were removed a bit early at 8 days post-op (shown above) due to Dr. Dorin's fast healing. True & Dorin ordinarily wait 10 to 12 days post-op to remove sutures, but in Dr. Dorin's case there was no need.

Note his recipient area appearance at just 8 and 11 days post-op. While redness remains, the scalp is quickly returning to its natural color. Ultra-refined hair restoration utilizing clean, dense-packed follicular unit grafting has this trait. The healing is much more rapid and clean than the hair transplants of yesteryear.

I agree. I think his hair looked great before this last procedure, but I guess it just goes to show that even hair restoration physicians get the "hair greed" at times!

Why was the domor area on the side of the head? I have not seen that before.

Are there recent picures? I notice that the procedure was performed in June.

Interesting to note that, even for such a small number of grafts and after 3 strips already, he didn't go for FUE. I'm having a hard time understanding why. Cost was obviously not an issue.

I hope someone can help me. I've gone to several consults. I wasd told by Dr Griffen that he only does 4-600 transplants at one time so to prevent shock etc, Dr Pistone does 1500 at one time and stands behind his work, saying shock may happen 6 weeks later. I don't want to have to go back for another procedure 6 months later. Opinions? Thanks!!!

Mil, you'll get better response if you start a new thread. Give us some background, i.e. your hairloss (NW scale), age, what you are trying to achieve, etc.
