I think its just the gel or caliber of hair because the picture with the comb the hairline looks pretty feathered. A second pass would help ,but I believe this one session is enough to stand on its own.

I think we all must remember that we are talking about an opinion of artistic design. There is no right or wrong and there is no need to defend an opinion, because it is simply just that - an opinion.
I believe everyone has agreed that hair growth yield seems high and it that the hair itself is natural looking. Bill

Hi,
when i saw the pic, my first idea was, that there is a big improvement and i liked the conserative hairline with that temples and there is a great coverage with only 2000 grafts... Great work Dr.Alexander and u see, that u dont need 5k + grafts to get a good result. Just my opinion NW5a

NN- I have been trying to understand exactly what was bothering you about this pts pictures other than the slicked back look. Also, I think the angle of the picture is not straight on so it makes it look a little off. If you look at the pre op pic you will notice the lines are right on and i am recreating the hair line that he would of had if he hadn't lost any hair. If you look at older men who have receded they all have this exact hair line. I have studied hundreds of non transplant photos. What I hate are sharp hard angles in the temples that only exist in young pts or in those that haven't lost any hair. Every pt that has receded has soft angles with a gentle curve into the side hair. Please study the pre op photos. This hairline matches the one I gave him perfectly. The reason his hairline doesn't seem soft is because it is plastered down with tons of gel. This pt is in his late 40's and owns one of the largest salons in the area, thus the hair style. I might add that no one can tell he has had a transplant unless he has told them. Believe me his hair looks very soft without the gel. The crown improved from the propecia. The pt now looks like he has no hairloss in person. I also take pride in not giving everyone the same hairline as many doctors do. I hope this helps you understand this photo and pt a little better.

Dr. Alexander,
Likely it is the slicked back look that is throwing off my judgement. I think that it gives him a little bit of a "helmut head" look. The only thing that I believe would improve the look is the addition of some temple points like Bobman just had done. I have added the link to his photos. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.co...d.php?t=152225 I tried to find an old thread where the topic was about temple points and how many believed that it could at times make or break the results or be the finishing touch. Couldn't locate. Obviously these are just my opinions and I kind of wish I had kept quiet because I don't like to say anything at all negative about a worldclass physician. Understand that it is just a very minor, minor, thing as the results really are technically sound. It is kind of like having a totally awesome icecream sundae without the cherry. |
