Hi everyone,

Do u think that its better to go for a slightly lowball density of say 40 fu cm2 when restoring your hairline over a higher amount of say 60 fu cm2 ?
Obviously in an ideal world of an infinite donor supply the higher density would be preferable, but is it better on your first pass to see if the lower amount turns out to be cosmetically acceptable to yourself, thus preserving more of that precious donor supply?
Of course nobody wants to be too conservative and end up unhappy with their results but personally i wouldn't want 'wastage' on an overly dense packed hairline.

I'd be very interested to hear peoples opinions on this.

thanks

id say it's completely relative to: age and current loss.

I don't recall your specific stats. But if your in your mid thirties and only experiencing loss and/or thinning in your hair line, then I would dense pack the hell out of it...

But if your in the same age bracket and experiencing loss into the frontal half then I would dense pack the hell out of the entire frontal half--given you have enough donor in the bank for future loss...

On the same token if your in your mid to late twenties and have thinning over the entire head I would try and distribute half of your available donor in this half of a balding area, as from my experience it appears that a NW6 has great results using half of his donor in the crown and half in the top...

that sounds like a lot of halfs and a lot of bull shit. hope that made some sense...

what ng2gb said summed it up; also, I don't think I would consider an "overly dense packed hairline" as "wastage". As a general rule, more density is better if your individual situation allows--it gives more stying options, is more cosmetically pleasing etc...
