I just got a re-up of Rogaine, but the guy who sells it kept asking me to try the foam (it's the same price).
I said no, since I'm used to the liquid, but he gave me a free can of foam to try it out. I've been using the foam in the morning and the liquid at night for a few days now. To be completely honest, I'm not impressed by the foam at all. Pros: it is marginally less tricky to apply Cons: it's hard to get the measurement right it's hard to get it out of the cap after measuring a lot of it is caught on the hair, rather than reaching the scalp (and my hair is less than a cm long right now. But it might be easier to apply to bald spots.) it's not actually all that foamy so it quickly melts |

I also apply the foam directly to my head. Much better than putting on hand, imo.

I think the foam is a novel way for the brand name Rogain to keep market share. If your rich and don't care about spending money go for the foam. Otherwise, use the very cheapest minoxidil 2% minimum solution you can find. Use the amount calibrated in the dropper. It has a half life of around 22 hours which is why they recommend two times daily applications. If you are using the other effective treatments then once per day is likely all you will need.

You don't have to be rich to get the brand name - I get it in from the U.S. from eBay and it costs me just about $50 with shipping, brand new. Whether it works or not is a different question.

I have been using the foam for nearly 9 months and it hasn't really given me great regrowth or anything.I apply it only on my hairline and one little spot in the crown. but basically, if you start up with it, you must continue on forever, right? I have to say that I actually prefer matthew gardson's method because it's free

From everything I have read here regarding Rogaine, Propecia etc.. I don't want to use any of it. The benefits to the hair growth products and shampoos seems to be split?
I think I read more posts that claim they are losing hair from their hair treatment stuff than those that are gaining? I bought Nizoral and Revita shampoos but now I am afraid to use it. |
