Hair transplantation for hairline reconstruction is gaining popularity among women with thinning or high hairlines and those who have undergone cosmetic facial procedures. While naturally occurring male hairline patterns have been described in the medical literature, these parameters, when applied to women, do not achieve appropriate facial framing and a "feminine" look. Moreover, while baldness progression is an important consideration for employing receding hairline patterns in men, non-receding patterns are appropriate for use in female hairline restoration.

In order to develop guidelines for female hairline restoration design, I studied a large population of 360 women and determined the frequencies, dimensions, and location of patterns found in naturally-occurring female hairlines. It is hoped that with greater awareness of what occurs in nature, hair restoration results in these patients will improve.

To my knowledge, this is the first study which describes the female hairline in detail.
Based on my findings I was able to develop guidelines for restoration design. The study
was presented at the Annual Meeting of the ISHRS in Las Vegas and has been submitted for publication in the medical literature.

These guidelines were utilized to accomplish the following female hairline restoration cases, among many others.

Case #1-Before and After: (Post) 1654 follicular units, 430-1's, 877-2's, 347-3's and 4's
Case #2-Before and After: (#104) 1152 follicular units, 368-1's, 461-2's, 323-3's and 4's.
Case#3-Before and After(94) 1225 follicular units, 341-1's, 418-2's, 466-3's and 4's.

Dr. Nusbaum,

Thanks for posting.

I know you intended to post pictures on this.

Be sure to select "New" and "Photo Album" instead of "New" and "Discussion".

I have also sent you an email in order to try to help you.

Thank you for persevering!
