This nice fellow had several plug cases done in the past by a doctor who at that time, had a good reputation. His donor area was all "plugged out" but he desired that his crown be made less pluggy. We were able to just barely get 1000 grafts on his left side, and using microscopic dissection, place these into 0.7mm slits-around his previous plugs-with virtually no bleeding.
Using a Christmas tree farm as an analogy--from above he used to look like an organized plug farm. We trimmed the plugs back to a few millimeters in height, then made slits around the plugs so as to not damage the hairs he already had. After slit placement, we shaved all of the plug hairs and placed the grafts. The pics at a week show new hair that we placed growing, and hair in his pre-existing plugs growing. Although he can expect some shock loss and shedding, he should get a nice cosmetic change. We may be able to get another procedure done for him in the future, should he desire to address other pluggy areas. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA

Looks nice. In fact, his old "plugs" looked a heck of a lot better than mine did.
That is also some of the best camera work and pics I've seen.
