I saw this fellow back for a 14 month visit. He is one of my earliest FUE cases and had had plugs placed in the early 90's. We discussed a strip procedure to mask his plugginess and give him more scalp coverage. Yet he chose a 250 graft FUE case. He had sufficient hair above and lateral to his plug harvest zones.
We often think of a plug hairline like driving by a Christmas tree farm. If one were to plant a bunch of trees in that first row of Christmas trees, passersby would have a hard time telling that they are driving past such an orderly placement of trees. Same principle with hair--place grafts between the plugs in the front row and at least for the casual observer, the previous work should not be nearly as noticable. Parden the quality of the pictures. The preop was from before I got half-way proficient with computer image storage.
