Really nice growth. Excellent outdoor pictures and closeups. Thank JB for sending the photos. Of course he's only at five months which means we are only looking at 40% growth. Can't wait to see the 8-9 month pics when the second stage of growth should be kicked in.
Grow well JB.

The shot you refer to is a wet shot - Johnboy posts on another forum which is where i have obtained his pics and that shot he refers to himself as a "WET" one.
Couldn't tell you JohnBoys hair type - i haven't been fortunate enough to meet him - maybe the Doc could comment when he gets a minute.

As I recall the caliber of JBs hair was moderate toward the thicker side. Coarse as well. Both excellent attributes. He also had a salt and pepper coloring which will also benefit him as this tends to make the transplant look a bit thicker than it really is.
Generally speaking, the first stage of growth is the "sprouting" of new hair. By the sixth month the numbers of new hair sprouts begins to decline and the THICKNESS or caliber of the new sprouts begins to increase. It is this maturation that lends itself to the dramatic changes usually noted between 6 and 9 months, and then again between 10 and 14 months. Usually, the 6 to 9 month stage is marked by kinky hair. This is because the cells within the follicles are not yet fully awake and the uneven distribution of those that are form a hair shaft with missing sections. The hair then kinks on the missing sections. By the 10 month to 14 month stage "normalization" kicks in which is when most of the cells in the follicle come back "online" and contribute evenly to the hairshaft minimizing or eliminating missing segments and the hair straightens out. If you look at one of my other patients known as "Thana..." you will see that at 8 months he is in the kinky phase of growth. To control the hair he uses hair gel. This will not only make the hair stick together to make it more manigable, but it will also fill in the missing segments of hair shaft until the transplanted follicles fully wake up. Be that as it may, the cosmetic improvement is undeniable: Thana's HT: Dr. Feller, 3k FUT, 1/8/08
