Very interesting. I am with Gorpy on this one. I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable having the techs make the incisions, especially since the incisions determine the the way in which the hair is inserted and how it ultimately will grow. Did Dr. Limmer (or Seager in the past) give reasons to why they don't make the incisions themselves or why they feel it's appropriate for the techs to make the incisions? I look forward to your reply.

Bill

i agree with this, if he does not make the incisions he is not in control of the angle at which the graft grows right?? this is pretty damn important and IMO, THIS is a HUGE part of the artistry in transplantation.. not to say the techs he hired are not good at what they do, i dont know if they are or not, i have no first hand knowledge of them... however im a little curious as to what the ACTUAL DRs artistic ability is.... drawing the line with a MARKER across the dudes forhead? picasso, eat yer heart out

So now we need to start researching techs. Check there background. What if a tech is out sick? a pinch-hitter designs the hairline and density per cm2. If they want to do this, they need to show which tech did which patient, so we can decide which tech we want. What does the doc do? Pretty soon, the dr. will be obsolete. Home transplants, tech will come over for a day and fix you up. Just use tylenol, so don't need doc for RX.

Leeson,

The surgeon you select is responsible for his/her team however, the technicians are a vital part of the process whether or not they use the "Stick and Place" technique.

Therefore, it's never a bad idea when consulting with surgeons you are considering to ask about the experience of the technicians working on you.

Best wishes,

Bill

I am considering Dr Limmer so I am watching this thread. What percentage of doctors do place all of their own grafts. I would no more want a new tech than I would want a new doctor performing the transplant. I am a very big believer in repitition in evertything in life, and a tech with 5-10 years experience in the trenches with proven results would not bother me at all.

Gentleman,

You can find information on Dr. Limmer's team of techs at this link. http://www.texashairloss.com/team.asp They have all been there since the 90's, which is amazing in this day and age. That speaks volumes for the type of honorable practice that Dr. Limmer created.

I look at it this way. When I go to my regular doctor, do I want him to draw my blood or his tech that does it all day long? That is an easy answer, the tech! I'm sure some doctors haven't drawn blood since medical school. The doctor is there to create, train and supervise. I've been a patient of Dr. Limmer since '93. You can trust them!
