Probably the majority (70% or higher) have started to grow but there will still be a noticeable change in texture and density. As stated earlier give approx. 8 more months for full maturation.

Big A,
Oh good...more photos. I replied to your other thread...but I can definitely get a better grasp of the growth so far from these angles. Growth looks good...as I said in another post...you will definitely have more growth. As a general timeline, you should be at about 60% about now. Bill

Thanks Bill, much appreciated! As a general rule, will most Dr's want to shave my head if I go back for a second ht to add more density? Like The B Spot said, another ht with 1,500 grafts would likely be perfect...but detectability is a big concern for me and I can't be walking around for a month with a buzzed dome if you know what I mean. I guess I should ask Dr. Cooley, eh?

Big A,
Many docs recommend shaving, but I don't know that too many require it, especially for a smaller session of only 1500 grafts. But yes, see what Dr. Cooley says about it. From the pictures, your results look terrific. Just remember though...at 6 months, you still have more to come. Give it at least a year before you determine whether you need another one. Bill

Hi
Yes, good advice.. 6 months is nice but for me 8 - 10 months is the biggest change AND then you still get more fullness at 1 year.. Also, probably best to wait longer for the scalp laxity to return to normal..

Thanks Mrjb! I'm going to post one more before/after pic that shows what an artist Dr. Cooley is. He also said (when we met a couple days ago) that if I want to come back at a year for another 1,500 (if necessary of course - he said I'd never 'need' another ht but could certainly have another one if I had hair greed!) he wouldn't need to shave my head...he can do it without shaving.

Big A,
Looks great, if you go another round with 1500, that will help your density of course and give you a real "finished" look. Even if you don't, your appearance will improve more with time, 6 months is still early. Either way, you are going to be thrilled with the final outcome, it looks very natural. |
