very nice result.

Unusual balding pattern. It looks like he had an older hairline transplant and lost his remaining native hair.

Thanks HairDew,mm315, and josh-b. This patient in fact has a variant male hair loss pattern known as Persistent Anterior Fringe. In this pattern individuals can keep varying degrees of the hairline intact, with male pattern baldness behind this and in the vertex. His hairline was thinning quite a bit, hence we increased his hairline density.

Dr. Arocha,

Thanks for sharing these. Everything looks good from the front and back view. Do you have an "after" picture of the top of the head, similar to the before picture you can post?

I feel a "top down" picture gives the most accurate representation of a result. Natural or similar lighting to the before picture is also helpful.

Nice work!

Bill

Bill,

View number four is the top down view. That was the best the patient could do on that day. When he comes in again we will update that view. Thanks.

Dr. Arocha,

Perhaps we view "top down" differently. Picture 3 is a classic "top down" view and it's a before picture. Picture 4 is a slight head tilt close to around 30 degrees.

I look forward to seeing updated pictures next time you meet with him.

Nonetheless, this is a clear improvement.

Bill

Looks good.

One point, there are NW6's and there are NW6's, meaning there are so many different types of the same loss. I was NW5 but this guy could end up with a better looking head of hair than I because his crown isn't gone at this point. As has been said, the crown swallows up a lot of grafts.

In this case, with almost all of the loss in the midscalp and frontal 1/3 area, the patient is in an ideal position to really dense up if he wants to.

Nice transformation, thanks for posting.
