hairthere:

I just received my pics from Dr. Feller complete with commentary. I also attached a post-op crown shot from Karamikian's lousy HT so you can see the difference. BTW, Feller estimated I got roughly 600 grafts total from Karamikian and I paid $7k...I could have had an FUE procedure for that much!

Spex,

Oddly enough, from the before pictures (which admittedly aren't very clear), I think hairthere's results from his first hair transplant looked pretty good.

Of course, once the pictures were posted with the shaved recipient areas, the use of 3 and 4 haired grafts in the hairline were obvious.

This is another clear case of why pictures sometimes don't necessarily expose the reality of a situation.

Thanks for posting these. I have confidence that this patient will be very satisfied with his results.

Bill

Thanks so much for posting these spex, i was just about to!

Bill, yes my hair didn't look terrible, and I think I was lucky. i have very thick hair which i used to curse as a kid because it was so tough to style. now I'm so thankful for it.

Dr. Joseph Karamikian is a doctor in New York City and I paid nearly $7k for what Dr.Feller estimated was roughly 600 grafts total. I hadn't done my homework and Karamikian charges by area worked on, not graft count. I knew something was wrong though when i saw my head post-op which made me do more research and I discovered the HLH forum and then this one (thank god!!!).

I will post follow -up pics as the hair matures....

How can this Dr Karamikian have a liscense to practice this crap work. Hairthere, thankfully Dr. Feller has made you knew again, just aggravates me to know the money and donor hair that was wasted by the other doc.

Good luck,

Bill,
There were virtually NO results from his first hair transplant. The only reason you may think he looks "good" is because of the thickness of his native hairs, NOT his transplants.

When the hairs were shaved it became obvious that the number of grafts that grew were negligable and stand out like a sore thumb as a few large dots in a field of minaturized hairs in the recipient area.

D. Feller summarized this first transplant best when he says a few "large dots." In person that's exactly what these grafts looked like up close, a field of black dots.

NN and NObuzz, thanks for the kind words. I'm very excited to see what my hair characterstics can do in the hands of a top doctor. And the whole experience at Dr.Feller's office was indeed TOP notch.

Regarding Karamikian, I just beg people who hear his name or know of someone going to him to steer them to my pictures or put them in touch with me so I can talk some sense into them.

Dr. Feller,

Thanks for the clarification. The minigrafts certainly became obvious when the head was shaved. It's lucky this patient had a good amount of native hair left.

One more thing to note: in the right profile picture of my post-surgery shots you'll notice six incision marks in pairs of two near my temple area. Those were these horrible looking mini-grafts that Karamikian randomly placed that stood out like a sore thumb. Dr. Feller punched them out and replanted them.
