Okay, someone tell me I'm just being paranoid. I have been doing some research on hair ingredients and have read some disturbing things about sodium laurel sulfate which is in almost every shampoo that I see. It is supposedly a skin irritant and has been know to cause cancer and damage the follicle as well. I googled it and got this information. So, does anyone know what this is all about?

Mikeh,

SLS (Sodium Laurel Sulfate) is a cheap ingredient that helps turn a shampoo gel into a gentle lather. It's contained in most every shampoo and doesn't cause or facilitate hair loss.

Some shampoos that don't contain this ingredient may try to use scare tactics to promote their product, but it's simply untrue. Otherwise everyone who used regular shampoo would be bald.

This is a hair loss myth.

Best wishes,

Bill

P.S. Research shows that pretty much everything will cause cancer eventually. So far, I haven't heard any reports of men are women getting cancer as a result of using shampoo.
