This patient is 4 ?? months after transplantation with Dr. Gabel in Portland, Oregon. He had good hair characteristics with moderate shaft thickness and density. 3825 ultra-refined grafts were transplanted in one session (1 hair grafts ??“ 905, 2 hair grafts ??“ 2437, 3 hair grafts ??“ 470, 4 hair grafts ??“ 13) densely packed. He desired to fill in the front and mid-scalp. The crown was not transplanted in this session. The plan is to transplant the crown and build up the temple points at the next session.

Dr. Gabel,

Thank you for posting hair transplant photos on behalf of forum member "Hair to Style".

So far at just only 4.5 months, this patient looks terrific.

I really like and appreciate that you took the time to post the immediately postoperative photos showing the approximate number of slits per square cm (hair density). That's terrific!

I really look forward to seeing the final result for this patient.

Bill

Dr. Gabel,

I think your attention to detail is evident in your presentation of this patient. Super job, super pics, results look great at only 4.5 months too. Would like to see the donor scar in the future is all that I would add.

Look forward to seeing more of your work.

Hi Dr. Gabel,

It's nice to see such a great example of your work. I'm sure the patient will be happy with his results in the coming months.

Do you recall Pamela and I from the Live Surgery Workshop in Orlando few years back?

Well done Dr. Gabel.

It is nice to know that your taking such a refined approach to your work---it is such a benefit to see a great plan and a happy patient. (I have known about you and your wrok for quite a while, but its nice to see you here on the forum more often)

I am hopeful that Pat's visit prompts an immediate invitation to join the Coalition.

Please keep posting your work as there are many who will benefit.

Take Care,
Jason

I would to thank all of you for your kind words about the progress for my patient. He is extremely happy with the results thus far from the procedure. Based on my examination, there is more to come as he has many hairs just starting to break through the skin.

After the patient left the office and i was organizing his photos, I realized that I did not take a photo of his scar. He is coming back to the office this week so I'll make sure I take those photos and post them. If you would like, I have some posttransplant microscopic photos of the donor area and the recipient area. They illustrate microscopically the density that this patient has received in the donor area compared to the newly transplanted area. Let me know and I'll post them.

Janna - I appreciate the kind words and feedback. And yes, I certainly remember Pamela and you from that workshop. That was a fun time. Is Pamela still working for Dr. Shapiro? If yes, please tell her "Hi" from me. Thanks.

That is exceptional growth for only 4.5 months. What's in the water over there in Portland?!
Excellent transplant and presentation Dr. Gabel. I can't wait to see how he looks by 6 months! Keep up the great work Dr. Gabel, you put Portland on the map.

I have put together a video of "Hair to Style" showing the early growth of the frontal scalp hair that was transplanted 4.5 months ago. I also included the donor area. We had a special guest at the clinic operating the video camera that day.

I am currently working with different lighting schemes to improve the lighting for the digital video camera I have. Any suggestions are welcome.
