Nice pics. Great to see you got the scopes . How do the techs feel about the microscopes?

Dr. Mohmand,

I am very pleased to see that you are slowly adapting to the use of microscopes to sliver and dissect follicular unit grafts.

How many microscopes have you purchased? How do your technicians like using the microscopes as compared to magnification loops?

I know you were reluctant in the beginning, but I feel that once your staff gets used to using microscopes regularly, that it will only further improve your sound practice.

Best wishes,

Bill

Well Bill

as you know that to start with there is some problem of hand eye coordination, then there is a neck strains etc.
I have trained one person per microscope, and today was their third surgery i mean on patients. It took me a week to train them initially on sheep skin etc.
Today Iwas told that in 25% strip she only damaged 3 grafts, so its picking up nice.
I am still sure that it will not improve the outcome clinically, my transaction rate was about 1 to 2% to start with.
But as I said, if thats what people demand thats what I do, I adopt it.
Now the ball is in the court of this forum to vote me back IN.

I have been facing a lot of criticism by my competetors with respect to the suspension from the forum.

I have bought two microscopes to start with.

Dr Mohmand,

Congratulations on adopting the use of microscopes.
Other surgeons in your position would have put their lawyers in to bat but u seem to be rising above the situation.

well done

Dr. Mohmand,

Please accept my congratulations on adopting microscopes into your clinic.

Initially, I was very unhappy with the fact that you did only loupe dissection, and unhappy that this site somehow overlooked this.

I am not sure how that happens, to be honest.

However, if I can point out what I consider to be a negative, I can certainly point out positives.

I am very happy you chose this path Dr. Mohmand, you have earned my respect for accepting criticism from laypeople and subsequently responding in a professional manner.

Any criticism from your peers is unwarranted, in my opinion, and I am sure you will soon be recommended once again.

Thanks for sharing,
Jason

Dr. Mohmand, this community did not establish microscopic dissection as the gold standard for trimming grafts. The most respected hair transplant physicians in the world set this standard - over ten years ago.

Based on well published studies microscopic trimming increases the viable graft yield from a given donor strip by over 20%. Given that all patient's donor supply is precious and finite, this increased yield is significant for patients. Microscopic dissection also enabled clinics to perform ultra refined grafting and dense packing.

Like many clinics who at first resisted switching to microscopes, you can't recognize what you can't see. But I expect you will soon see why leading clinics use the microscope exclusively and would never go back to inferior forms of visualization.

I do commend you for being willing to change and adopt well recognized worldwide standards for graft trimming. I expect that with time you will find that the microscopes will enable you to take your work in time to a much higher level of refinement and density.

Please keep me and this community posted on you and your staffs adoption of the microscopes. I'd like to see close up photos showing your final grafts after microscopic trimming. To see examples of excellent microscopic graft cutting view the highlights from my visits to leading clinics.

When your staff is fully up to speed with microscopic trimming and wondering how they got by without the microscopes, let me know and we'd be happy to welcome you back.

Onwards and Upwards, Pat

Dear Abby

Just relax

I told you and am telling you again, wait ill the end of third to 4th month and you would start seeing a lot, after the end of 4th month every two weeks will be a lot of improvement. Mind you you are type V to VI MPB. so be patient.
As far as Microscope is concern, I can bet on my results to be as nice and natural as any one using no matter how strong microscope.
But Just to prove that I go along the world I have bought two microscopes to satisfy the people. YES it will make the difference, nw the number of grafts that I did for you as 3200 will end up to 3800 cause it will change all the twos to singles. and my 10 to 20 % of twos will be duobled.

so next time you pay more for the same effect. AFter all thats what happens when you do ultrafine grafts
--------------------------------------------------

Dr. It sounds if your a little bitter for buying the scopes.
Lets face it you did it because you were losing business ,not because you felt they deliver better results,
It seems like you just want to be recommended again.
If you choose to charge more for the grafts you split then thats on you but some people need more 1s then what the strip provides as far as units.
Could you explain what you mean when you say the 2s will be doubled?
So in the past if there werent enough 1s to do complete a natural hairline and temple points ,you just used 2s instead instead of splitting some of them.
That doesnt make a transplant as natural as you seem to think.
I had 2s in my hairline and they stuck out like a sore thumb.
Nuhart used the natural occuring 1 hair follicle in the hairline but when those ran out they used 2s instead of splitting some of them .

Were you not able to split the 2s with the loupes?
