Per Bill' and a few other readers' request for us to share some examples of some of our work in recent years, the following three sets of photos will be listed and described briefly.

Impressive looking end-results. One question, what is an MFU and how does it differ from an FU?

Zoinks!

I had to have another look at the second patient just to check that it was the same guy! Some pretty impressive results there!

Did a search on MFUs and your name popped up - go figure!

Dr. Beehner,

Very nice results. Thanks for posting. I hope you'll take the time to post patient examples more often.

In the future, I encourage you to create one photo album per patient showing pictures from different angles including hairline, crown, top of the head, sides, back, scar, etc. This will help patients get an overall view of the result.

thanatopsis,

A MFU (multiple follicular unit) is when follicular units are combined and then inserted into a single recipient site. Some surgeons believe that in limited quantities, that these grafts can help provide a greater illusion of hair density.

Personally, I am a fan of all follicular unit grafting and since the number of hairs ultimately is the same, hair density should be the same with strategic placement of the follicular units.

Perhaps Dr. Beehner can enlighten us on his philosophy on the use of MFUs.

Best wishes,

Bill
