6544 grafts in one session by Dr. Hasson at eight months post-op. Some people have asked recently about what characteristics are needed to have the "non see through" look. Well, it is very difficult to get to this and honestly is not the goal of most hair restorations as the supply vs. demand issue is usually way out of balance to achieve this. Even with no hairloss there are lighting conditions condusive to the see through look so it is never 100% avoidable, with or without surgery. To get close though, you basically need what this patient has. Coarse dark hair, very large numbers relative to the area being addressed and dense packing. All the angles show that there is no see through on this patient, including the shot taken outdoors.

Great results. Is he on Propecia / Rogaine to assist with the Crown? Was any HT done to the crown or just to the front & top?

Joe could you post his immediate post op pics?

I would like to see graft placement if possible.

Also, what is his donor state after 6500 grafts?

I will say that this guy exhibits the best hair characteristics possible with regard to coverage per individual hair.
Did he require slightly larger incisions due to the diameter of his follicles?

His results are amazing and prove what can be done in optimal settings.

Bspot,

He does have the best of the best characteristics. That was the point of showing his results at eight months like I mentioned in the post. There are shots of the recipient placement posted by the patient himself here...

Qwert - 6544 grafts by Dr Hasson Nov 30 2005

After 6544 grafts his donor area is in good shape with quite a bit more hair available for harvest. That is the case with all patients that have super-megas. They have more to take as we can't take all that they have in one session without needing two Chevy trucks with logging chains to close the donor area

His scar is thin (I'll find those pics) and the growth is fantastic. I do not know the details of the incision sizes but if I can find that info I'll post it.

Yep, his results are amazing and it's a joy to see him in person. It looks that good.

This shows also that by taking so many grafts in the right candidate it does not mean that they are screwed if they lose more. He is covered and if he were to lose more he has more to take to address the loss. The grafts weren't placed in the front third of his scalp so there won't be an unbalanced look to the distribution. Higher density in the front, lower in the back just as nature would have it.

M&M,

The patient takes Avodart and had been for a while before he came to us. He is very educated with regards to hairloss and medications/supplements and realized that while he had positives from his regimen only a hair transplant could get him where he wanted to be. He had a very small amount of grafts placed in the crown but not the entirety of the crown. They were mainly placed at the top.

Thanks Joe

Man, what a lucky bastard!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can only hope that I get moderately close to this guy.

Although, I think Bill might give this guy a run after his last HT grows in!!!!!!!!

Cheers!

B-SPOT,

LOL I hope so, I hope so!

Pretty phenominal results if I do say so myself. H&W has been able to get such a large number of grafts per session and have constantly been able to yield tremendous results! That's what drew me to them for my last surgery in the first place.

Joe,

I just wanted to confirm something that I THINK I already know. But the reason why more can be harvested later in the donor area and not all at one time...I assume it's because skin's elasticity over time increases which enables another large strip to be taken after healing occurs? Is this correct? If there is anything incorrect or any more detail you can give me, I'd appreciate it.

Bill
