Dr. Feller,

Thank you for the above impressive photos. However, in the interest of providing more accurate and detailed information on this forum, all physicians and patients posting results on this forum will be asked to provide hair counts in addition to graft counts. Donor strip measurements will also be encouraged. Any additional comments about donor area laxity, density and other patient characteristics or goals would also be useful to present.

Ideally the information will presented similar to below:

Patient A ??“ Surgical Session on 03/06/2005

720 one hair grafts (720 hairs)
1,220 two hair grafts (2,440 hairs)
560 three hair grafts (1,680 hairs)
110 four hair grafts (440 hairs)

Session totals - 2,610 grafts totaling 5,280 hairs

Donor Strip Size ??“ 25 cm long by 1.2 cm wide = 30 cm2

Thank you in advance for presenting future patient results in this format.

Pat

Dr Feller,

I have Dutasteride question. I've been on Propecia since January '99 with good success. I grew hair all over and it almost completely halted my hair loss. However, within the last year Propecia has lost its' effectiveness and I'm almost back to where I started. When Dutasteride becamer available, I gave it a try. I had started shedding at about month 2 and continued for about 2 or 3 months before I got concerned and stopped. I see you have a high opinion when it comes to its' effectiveness for MPB. Given these circumstances, would you recommend for someone in my hair loss condition, to consider giving Dutatsreide another go and hold out beyond the extended shedding phase? I'm a 41 year old male, a nw3 and one HT. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I dont know much about Dutasteride, could you talk more on this and the difference from finistride? Is id a pill taken once a day? is it the same costs or more or less expensive? what are the pros and cons? Thanks Dr Feller for your participation.

It's a pill taken once per day. More expensive. Blocks two "DHT"s instead of one like propecia.

I have been on propecia for a year, at what point should I consider switching? do you recommend a person try propecia first then switch or go right away to dutasteride? is it a lot more expensive?

Troy if you are interested in trying Avodart I would read the articles comparing it to Propecia by Robert on: http://www.regrowhair.com/general-hair-loss-topics/comm...d-you-choose-part-1/

The cheapest place I have found to buy Avodart on the Internet is at: http://www.globaldrugsdirect.com/

If anyone else knows of a cheaper place let us know.

I think if Propecia is working, stick with what's proven. Remember, propecia is FDA approved for hairloss, Dutasteride is not.
