avodart has not been out as long and is stronger than fin so we know less about it's possible long-term effects.

Well, if it's "one and done", then he doesn't need any more donor. But I know what you're saying, NN. He could lose more hair on the sides, etc and need the "spare" donor for touchups, and so on.

How old is this patient anyway? I would like to see the hairline a tiny bit lower. But if he's happy with it, that's what matters most.

Also, someone mentioned that he could use a more flattering hairstyle. I imagine he is getting the most out of what he has to work with right now.

Josh,

We've got a Sunglasses Hut down the street

Bill,

You know, I thought we had some immediate post-op shots but for the life of me I can't find them. Me thinks we never took any since they aren't in his file.

Thanatopsis,

Finasteride is by far the more common prescription we write. I'd say it's about a ten to one (two at most) ratio so we don't prefer it over Fin which as I understand it is contrary to popular belief. We will usually write a script for Avo if the patient is not responding positively to Fin.
