After feeling some side effects I have dropped the dosage to .5g every 2 days. Would it be better to go .25g each day instead, any thoughts?

Thanks,
Proactive

Well first, I hope you are actually referring to miligrams and not grams...because .5 grams would be WAY too much finasteride

However, I think .5mg every 2 days or .25 g each day is 6 in one half, a dozen in the other, in other words...not much difference. I believe there is evidence to suggest that .25 mg a day is almost or just as effective as 1mg per day...so I don't think you have anything to lose by trying that especially if you are experiencing side effects at 1mg per day.

In personal opinion, I would suggest taking .25mg per day rather than the other, simply so you are in the habit of taking a pill every day...lest you might forget and skip a day.

Falc

Proactive...

As Falc mentioned, finasteride at doses down to 0.2mg has the same DHT blocking as 5mg.

As far as whether to use it every other day at 0.5mg or 0.25mg on a daily basis, it probably would not make a hugh difference, but perhaps using it daily would help keep a more stable blood level of the drug, might make a small difference.

I personally use 0.5mg daily, have recently reduced my dose from 1mg due to the studies showing it is just as effective. Hopefully the new dose will cut down your side effects to an acceptable level. Let us know how you make out.
