1980's HT.
Mid 40's guy who has been disguising his old surgery from an unknown clinic with a combination of an elaborate comb over and a lot of hair spray.
Dr Farjo was able to harvest over 3200 FUT and partially redistribute some of the older plug grafts.
this was carried out in May 07 and new pictures will be added as things progress.

Mick,

Congrats! You will be happy that you took this step in your road to recovery. You mentioned the Dr. redistributed some old grafts. I do not see, were they fued out or cored out, broken up and then replanted??

I suspect this will really help you ditch the hairspray when you grow out!

Mick,

This is a great set and truly shows what I've been looking for from the Farjo clinic!

Nice ultra refined work and use of dense packing in the front.

I'm sure this patient will also be excited to have some new (though thinner) hair in the crown - much like my situation.

Please keep us posted on this patient's progress as we'd like to see the final result.

Bill

I'm in a similar situation this man is in. I originally had work done in the 80's buckshot style. Then in the early 90's I had more done a little more similar to what I've seen here. Where a section is taken out of the donor area and stitched up. the area taken out though was probably only about 2 1/2 inches wide and about an inch or so high. It's been about 16 yrs ago. What was done here is what I am hoping for. Soften the hairline and work my way back as much as I can. I'm not looking for miracles. I just want it not to look like a transplant with minimal fuss.

I've been putting this off for years because I was able to disguise my transplant pretty well but I'm always trying new ways to disguise it. I'm now 52 and it's getting harder and harder. I truly appreciate all your help. I've been taking propecia for the past couple years and it did seem to arrest the balding but It's still a pain to cover it up all the time. I'm sick of wearing baseball caps too.

Thanks in advance.

This will definitely do the trick to help hide the plugs. Is it 3200Fu because it doesn't look like it but possibly because it is spread over the entire scalp?

Definitely some refined work. Much better than the old school stuff. This guy will be quite happy.

It was good that we were able to harvest the numbers, especially with his old donor scarring.I hope also that it has given chitownlarry the confidence to see if his situation can be improved by visiting a few practices. We have been able to help many cases similar to the above as have many of the doctor's who are recommended here. In many ways it is more satisfying to see people almost come alive again, once the worry associated with having an old style transplant has gone.

WOW! What a great result. Unreal that 15 years ago we were transplanting plugs. Wondering how that ever was acceptable. Good work on going through the process and re trusting again. I am in the same sitution- not with plugs but with work that i am clearly not happy with.
