Very nice all around with a fairly small number of FU's, I would have thought you needed more like 5,000 to get this result although we do not see how really thin or thick the crown is now. Yes, it would be nice to see pictures of the closure. What density did you achieve in the hairline and temples?

Dr. Alexander, Nice looking results!
What would be the most grafts you would do in a mega session ( with average scalp conditions ) ? And would it be be in 1 session or split into 2 sessions? Do you prefer several smaller procedures or the Mega session? Thank you for posting! |

The density I used was 70 grafts/ sq cm.
Typically the most I will do in one session is 4000 grafts. The most important thing is to make sure I can close the donor area without severe tension. This way, the resulting scar is good, and I haven't killed other hair by pulling the suture too tight to close. A few secrets of mine including the following: we handle tissue very carefully and keep it chilled through out the day. We are very gentle with the grafts. If the need be, we will send our pts to a Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber to increase oxygen to the grafts in the very critical, first three days. Last but not least, it doesn't hurt to have good quality hair! Thank you for your comments, Dr. Alexander

Dr. Scott,
Thank you for posting your pictures of this patient. The results look excellent. I do, however, question the density you claim to have used (70 grafts/sq cm) in the hairline. Though the results look terrific, the hairline appears to have a thinner look to it. Maybe the picture is deceiving, but if I had to guess the density, I would guess 50 FU/sq cm max. Anyway...I mean the above with no disrespect, however, perhaps you can post some close up pictures of the hairline so we can get a better picture of the density placed. Thanks, Bill

The results are definitely top notch but I will agree that 70Fu/cm2 seems high. For what area exactly is 70? The math doesn't work out as John NC stated. Either way, just curious about the numbers but the HT looks good whatever the figures are.

I agree with you guys but the results look very nice considering the small # of FU.
