This man had an 1800 graft strip by me in January. He came in for a check up and his scar is difficult to see in person.

We kept the strip to 1.5 cm in width and did a nice 2 layer closure. As he had had problems with sutures elsewhere, I used staples for closure of the epidermis. He didn't come in for a 3 week check but did massage his scar line.

Given how well he did, I have no reservations in offering him a second procedure in the future.

For us, the key to having the best scar possible is getting a scar history from the patient, closing with a tension free closure, massage postop, and early intervention with any problems including our standard encouragement of a 3 week postop scar check.

Then Transplant_dude, I would suggest you check in with your doc, he may be able to reassure you, or recommend something.

Good Luck
